Never read a comic before :O

Being as curious as she was, Callan has already explored most parts of the castle in her first few days, though she has not met many people yet but she hopes she will meet more soon. Climbing the spiral staircase to the second floor of the large library she looked around, books were EVERYWHERE!

Walking through the shelves of books she skims each title before moving onto the next, nothing really interesting her. What she was looking for was a VERY simple, VERY easy book to read. Not that she is not smart enough to read complex books, the fact is.... she can't!

Finger running along the spines of the books she continued searching.
"... can't read.... can't read... can't read... can't read... can read... can't read... huh?" Going back one book to the title she could actually read she pulled it out. It was a comic of some sort.

"... I've never read a comic before." Grinning happily she plopped her bum down smack-bang in the middle of the row and opened her newly found book.

Raye hummed Ano Hi Time Machine to herself, nose buried in a volume of InuYasha as she strolled through the library.

Free time usually meant retreating to the library so she could read Yaoi or other various manga volumes.

With a loud grunt, she tumbled forwards on top of someone who she hadn't seen due to having her nose being so firmly stuck on staring at Lord Sesshomaru conversing with his mother. "Sugar," she cried, scrambling away from the person she had crushed under her weight.

The girl looked familiar. Hang on, wasn't she the one that she had seen on the dirt road? With Terri and Deneli? What was her name...? Colin? No... Carrie? No, no. Yare, yare, Raye-Majick, you really have a terrible memory.

"Sorry. Oh, you're Callan, right?" She had grasped blindly at a name and hoped it was right.

"O-ouch!" Callan cried feeling a heavy weight crash into her, sending her backwards onto the floor and making the comic she was reading flying under the shelf.

W-what was that?!

After the weight had moved from her, Callan looked beside her to see what it was that knocked her onto her back, her white hair falling in front of her face. The heavy object that fell on her was actually a person! A very familiar person, I mean, who could forget that multicoloured hair?

"Y-yep, I-i'm callan. Your Raye. I met you w-when i was l-lost."

Raye grinned and did a little jig in her excitement. I got her name right!

"Yupp, that's me." She grinned and patted the ground. "Reunited with my best friend again, ne?"

She crossed her legs and rested her chin on her palm that she had propped up against her knee. "So, what possessed you to throw yourself in front of me and reunite me with the ground, ne, Callan?" The tilt of her lips proved to assure the girl she was only teasing with her.

Oblivious Callan fidgeted nervously. "I-i um... I didn't mean to s-sit right in the m-middle! I-i'm Soooo Sorry!"
Callan sat straight up now and turned to match her legs like Raye.

"I-i was trying to r-read," She looked around, ears twitching. "B-but i seems to have losted it." Tilting her head she continued.

"I know I-i haven't had m-many friends b-but why have a friend that h-hurts you?" She pointed to the floor with her scaled hand. "A-and why do you sit like this??" Once again tilting her head curiously.
"Is it w-what some land-beings d-do?"

"Ah, don't worry about it, darlin', I'm just a clumsy arse. I woulda tripped at some point anyway," the Jinn assured, waving her hand dismissively. "And I can't say that I'm not guilty of sitting in the middle of the isle." A grin pulled at her lips. "That was the start of quite an amusing and eventful story, actually."

"Ah, reading - libraries are generally a good place to sit and read. Plenty of books," Raye commented, tilting her head towards the plethora of bookcases around them. "Though I'm pretty sure most of them are boring." She flinched visibly when she said that and looked around; paranoid. "I gotta stop saying that... They're gonna attack me again," she hissed, glaring at the nearest bookcase.

"Lost it, huh? Bet that was my fault for bumpin' into ya. Sorry about that, Cal."

"Why have a friend that hurts you, ne? Good question. In my case, I need someone to give me a good thump when I start acting stupid, evil, air-headed, too sarky or let the Wolf free. Someone like me needs someone that'll keep me in line. That, and I like to play-fight. Can't really do that with someone that doesn't like to rough it up a little."

She tilted her head to the side, blue hair streaking around her head like a waterfall. "Why? Something I used to do as a pup. Not all land-beings sit like this. In fact, it buggers up my knees something awful nowadays. But childhood habits are hard to break."

Callan giggled, her shoulders shaking slightly as she listened to Raye explaining about the evil book cases. "I-i haven't been attacked b-by them y-yet. Hehehe, I h-hope i wont though." She smiled at Raye gently, she was so confident! She admired and sometimes even envied people who where confident.

It would be so much easier to make friends if i where someone like her and not like... Callans eyes glanced down at herself. ..Like me. I wish i could make more friends and not have to stutter either!

Her pale blue eyes glanced back at Raye but she quickly looked away, starting to scan the bottom of the book shelves for the fallen book. Normally she would just let it go is she couldn't find it, but this book was different. If she could, she was defiantly going to hire the book out and never give it back until the school ended, that's how much finding the book meant to her.

She pouted not seeing the book so instead she decided to uncross her legs and role over onto her knees and started to crawl around in a circle close to the ground trying to find the it. "Gottafindit gottafindit gottafindit...." She muttered quietly as she searched.

"Well, if you do get attacked, come to me. I'll set 'em straight for ya," Raye assured with a smile. Cal was a sweet girl. Shy and stuttery. A little like Raye when she was younger. Hell, even now.

Raye hid behind her brave and outgoing mask. She was a very self-conscious person. When she got uncomfortable, she usually used her brutal sarcasm as a weapon. Though she had never suffered with stutters, she could be terribly shy at times.

She howled with laughter when the girl opposite her clambered up onto her hands and knees, shifting around in circles chanting a mantra to herself.

"What on earth are you doin', Callan? And whatever it is, do you need any help?" Raye nudged the girl's hip with her shoulder as she too positioned herself on hands and knees. "Jeez, feels good to be back on four legs again. I've been neglecting my true form a little."

Callan giggled at the other girls action of bumping her with her shoulder.

She liked it when people played with her, she didn't have many friends and the friends she did make, she had to leave them just after she got to know them. It made her sad sometimes but she had decided from the first step she took inside of the castle, that she was going to make as many friends as she could and have as much fun as was possible.

Continuing to craw around on hands and knees she ducked her head and looked under a book shelf.

"I-i am looking for the comic t-that I found a few minutes a-ago. Y-you can help I-if you like. It has a b-boy on the front and a l-long haired girl. Um... T-they had biiig eyes, well n-not too big, n-not like an aliens or anything.. Kind of cartoon-ish I guess. I watched a c-cartoon once, I think it w-was like that."

Callan paused and raised her head, dust covering parts of her bangs and the tip of her nose. She looked over her shoulder at Raye.

"I-i'm not very g-good at describing.. am I? I-im sorry!"

Raye's eyes lit up when she heard the description. "I know exactly what you mean. It's either a comic book or a volume of manga."

She dipped down to press her cheek to the ground, scanning under the shelves.

"I love manga. I'm constantly reading it." She motioned over to the book in the middle of the isle that she had left with one hand, still searching under the bookshelves.

"Eurika," she muttered, reaching forwards and curling her fingers around a book. She pulled it out and shook off the dust. "This the one you looking for?" she asked with a triumphant grin as she dangled to comic in front of her.

Callan looked over her shoulder, white hair falling out from in her face. Looking over at Raye she saw that she had indeed found the lost book she was looking for. Crawling awkwardly around in the same spot, she faced Raye with a big smile.
"That's the one! I-i knew it was a-around somewhere!"

She crawled over to the brightly coloured Raye, it not passing through her mind that she could get up now, and plopped her bottom down in front of her. She reached out and took the book from the she-wolfs hand and opened it to the first page.

"A m-manga? Why not just call i-it a comic?" She asked.

Looking down on the page she had opened the book to, she tilted her head in confusion.

The page says 'The End'... but i have only just opened it... i don't understand.

The wolf grinned. "Things have a way of getting into some strange places when you drop them." She wiped her hand on the thigh of her jeans, leaving a nice grey smudge of dust on the dark material of her jeans. "Found it under the bookcase."

Raye chuckled to herself. "Because with manga you have to-" She plucked the book from the girl's hands and flicked through it until she reached the 'back' of the book. "-start from the back and read to the front. Read right to left instead of left to right."

"It takes a while to get used to." Her nose wrinkled as she looked at the cover of the book in the Nickar's hands. It was in English. "And it's a pain to read in English. I really do need to start taking those lessons Yuuki was gonna give us. But all of the books that I have at the moment are in Japanese. So, unless I take a class that requires me to read a book I haven't already read or got, I should be fine." She stuck her tongue out with a grin. Raye was lazy without a doubt. She hated the laborious task of translating scripts.
