It's getting a bit dark

Himitsu walked away from the boat, glad to be away from it finally- the rower hadn't been very interesting.

He smiled to himself looking down the road with satisfaction.. finally....
He started walking. Not too fast, not slow either, looking around still smiling slightly with big round eyes.

He was carrying one bag only- and it was amazing how many cloths he'd managed to squash in there.
All his favourites only- which didn't narrow it down a lot.
But that was ok, he'd trade socks and jumpers for this any day.

He had to admit it was a bit dark though, and he hoped it wouldn't take too long to reach the castle.
Being along in the dark was not something he was fond of. At all.

Raye whistled her song to herself quietly as she strolled leisurely down the Dirt Path. She preferred walking when she wanted to get away. And the dark helped her relax.

She was pretty close to the place she was dropped off on the island. Huh, I didn't think I'd walked that far... She lost track of time when she walked. Walking and singing were the two best stress relievers bar practising Kendo.

he heard the noise of someone approaching and whistling and sighed relieved.
He wouldn't be alone after all.

"Konnichiwa~" he called out of habit before realizing they probably didn't speak Japanese. "er.. hello" he amended, walking over to the stranger smiling sweetly, hands clasped behind his back.

he couldn't really see in this light but it looked like a girl.

Her head snapped up when she heard someone speak in the tongue she had used for most of her life. "Konnichiwa," she answered back instantly. "Hajimemashite. Watashi wa Raye-Majick desu."

((cos we don't actually speak japanese the speaking will now be written in english but is really japanese XD- just incase anyone's stalking this thread *shifty eyes*)

Delighted that she did speak Japanese he grinned happily as he reached her.
"Nice to meet you too- I'm Himitsu" he replied bowing.

He was right, it was a girl- obviously older than him. Well.. at least she looked older than him anyway.

She gave a very shallow bow back. It felt strange slipping back into old traditions. She hadn't been in Japan for months. "It's a pleasure, Himitsu. You're a new student, right? let me be the first to welcome you to Lillegard." A small smile curved her lips.

He grinned almost bouncing up and down. "yes, thankyou- and yes I'm new here, how about you?" he asked, starting to walk down the road, talking in a bubbly cheerful manner.

Raye followed behind a lot more calmly with a fond smile of her face. He reminded her a little of her younger brother. She hadn't seen her younger brother is over a hundred and thirty years...
"I got here a little over a week ago myself. This is a great school. I think you'll enjoy it here."

"that's great, I can't wait to get there and meet all the people and.. maybe... I'll see my onii-chan" his voice lowered a bit and he looked down only smiling slightly as he said the last part.

His onii-chan.. he'd sensed that he might be here.. no.. he was certain of it.

"You have a brother? Who is he?" Raye asked curiously. She loved to hear about other peoples relationships with their siblings. She hadn't had a very good one with her two brothers and sisters.

"hmm..?" he looked around at her question, for a split second he had an odd mysterious look on his face before it was gone in a flash replaced by a massive cheerful grin.
"My Onii-chan!? He's the greatest person in the whole world.." he giggled, making big exaggerated steps much like a child would, pretending to balance on something. "He's smart and funny and he always looks after me!" he stated confidently, then his look feel slightly.
"But we lost each other and I haven't seen him for a long time... that's why I'm here!" his grin returned.

"You sound like you really look up to him," she noted quietly. How many times had she wished for an older sibling to look up to? Being the oldest wasn't always the best.

A frown marred her face and she flicked her tongue across her lower lip. "You were separated? I hope you find him. hey, what's his name? Maybe I can help you find him?"

"yeah.. I look up to him more than anyone else!" he stated jumping and landing on two feet as though he'd just jumped off whatever he was balancing on. "

he looked around at her offer. "Don't worry.. I know he's here.. I can tell" he winked smiling then stopped, thinking. "He.. probably goes a by a different name now.. so I don't know." he shrugged, smiling slightly less as he spoke but then grinning again.

She made an awkward face. Other peoples feelings were not something she was good with handling. Neither were her own, actually. She had avoided emotions entirely for over a century and it was strange feeling them again after so long. "I do hope you find him."

He thought for a moment then smiled brightly. "oh maybe you know what he looks like!" he clasped his hands together infront of his chest.
"um he's tall and he's got dark hair and um.. Er.." he scrunched up his face for a moment trying to think of what else to say. "He has pale skin like mine.. Um.. Um" he looked at her hopefully, out of things to say.

"Those descriptions are quite generic, hon. What colour eyes does he have? How does he act?" she asked. She could already see an image of Shae flashing through her mind. Even if it was a totally ridiculous assumption with nothing more to go on than dark hair.

He thought for a second before replying.
"well.. He used to have.. Buts that's probably also changed.. Er- I dunno um.. He.. He.. OH!!" he grinned triumphantly on sudden impulse.. "I think he'd have.." he began, lifting his hoodie up to show his chest. "a scar something like this somewhere on him?" he asked, hopeful.
On his left over his heart was a thin white scar. Not as faint as it's cousin but pretty faded, in the shape of a smiling face, two eyes and a jagged mouth.
The was himitsu spoke was still cheerful, like the mark was completely normal.

He kindof doubted his Onii-chan would have been showing it off to everyone but it was worth a try at least..

Raye stopped dead in the middle of the road and stared at the scar. "Yeah...I've seen that scar before." He still had a smile on his face. How could he show someone a scar and still be smiling!?

Her guess was right. Shae was the 'brother.'

"huh? Really?!" he asked excitably jumping up and down. "you know him? Are you friends with him? Close friends? Do you like him?.." he instantly began asking questions, a huge, happy smile now in place as he walked, swing his arms and nearly skipping along beside her.

"Yes. Yes. Not really. A little." She answered each question in order, smiling when he started skipping. In her minds-eye his hair faded to grey and his eyes glowed bright turquoise. "Spyridon..."

He turned still smiling but slightly questioning.
"hmm..?" he asked tilting his head to one side, nor having heard properly what she last said.

The image of her brother faded.

"It's nothing. You just remind me of someone I used to know, is all..." she muttered with a small frown.

He smiled wider and kept skipping.
"really? Who?.. Were they close to you?" he asked lightly.

"He was my brother. Well, my youngest brother. Possibly my youngest brother..." she corrected. Twice. She left pretty early. And she hadn't had contact since. She didn't know if her mother had another litter of pups or ten in the years she'd been away. It was possible.

"I wasn't really too close with him. I wasn't close with any of them... And it's been well over a century since I've last seen him. He's probably dead. Jinn are notorious for living their lives way too fast."

"oh um.. I'm sorry.." he replied not quite sure what to say. His smile dropped to something of a sympathetic expression and he reached and grabbed her hand gently, looking up at her still with a slight smile, but one that was meant to be more comforting.. Just trying to do his best to be nice.
