Birthday Gift

Jami knew Leon's birthday was sometime around now-ish, maybe. He had said it was close a little while ago. Of course Jami wasn't sure if it was out of the need to be annoying to her 'brother' like figure, or if she was being nice, but she placed the wrapped gift on his bed anyway. She had made it herself, and was considering putting gold in it. But she didn't.

It was a sculpture of his cross. She had been bored and remembered what it looked like to a small degree. It was about 10 inches tall and 2 inches thick. Made from what ever scrap metal she had that would work. The metal of course wasn't scrap now. It was smooth with only bulges at the seems of the parts. The detail was nice but probably not accurate.

After putting it down she left leaving no clue who was in the room except her fine craftsmanship, and a note saying.

Leon entered his room with a yawn. It was already nighttime by the time he got back. He'd spent the whole day practicing some new spells and now he was exhausted. He barely noticed the gift as on his bed/ At first he was suspicious. He was fairly certain he hadn't told anyone when his birthday was since he didn't even particularly care for it. He though Feign, or maybe even Jess may have been bored enough somehow get a gift to him, and that it wasn't outrageous for there to be gold inside the box.

For a minute he played with the idea of throwing it out the window for some other schmuck to find. Finally, almost out of aggravation, he picked up the box and opened it, not gently. His eyebrows creased at the object inside, a replica of his cross. Reading the note, he vaguely remembered telling Jami it was nearly his birthday.

Finally he decided that it was actually pretty well-crafted. He'd never actually received something handmade as a gift, though he remembered he was always to make Cass's gifts as a child. That was when he was human young, not just demon young. Before he could possess angels. At 54, he was still a young demon.

He smirked, unable to understand what had possessed Jami to make him a gift, but somewhat indifferent to it. He placed the cross, still inside the box on his night stand and went to bed.
