Right Off B.A.T [Esteban and Esha]

As her room had gotten stuffy and the looming deadline for homework drew near, Esha had found herself wandering the castle and it's grounds with no particular direction, bored; Knowing she could be doing something productive however the will to seemed out of reach to her.

She found hanging around the place with indifference suited her better at the moment.

With the place's state of late Esha found it safer outside- at least there would be no danger of falling bricks. Or Homework. The stone girl was keen on avoiding both of those things like the plague itself.

Since the library incident she'd been looking to the ceilings far more. A mental note was made to pack away anything that she cared about being damaged, just in case anything happened. A certain pair of heels, jewelry, typewriter...The library had been a wake up call to the state of the school, which she would have happily ignored if it were possible any longer.

Although the sun was out, it was a slightly bitter day that day so the stone girl had opted to wear a hoodie so she could stuff her hands into something if it got colder. Pace akin to a stroll, arms swinging slightly as she walked. The stonegirl was going nowhere quickly, with a mind half in the clouds.

Esteban was a bit at odds with the castle right now.

After the chat with Owen and their departure, a weird, seemingly headless female silhouette had caught his attention, and as he followed it through the corridors, he got separated from his chubby companion. And then, that huge crash had resounded and the strange woman disappeared before he could catch up with her. Later, he found out that the castle had been haunted by all sorts of monsters and that the noise was the roof of the clock tower collapsing.

He had missed out on all of the action. Not cool.

So now, Esteban chose to hang out in the courtyard. Sadly, there really was less there to do than he had hoped for. It was full of plants and perfectly nothing else, and all plants were good for was eating. And he wasn't hungry. A bored expression on his face, he was making his way towards the door to the breakfast room when the fact that he had company shone on him like a ray of bright light. Immediately cheered and grinning widely, he made his way towards the girl and moved to swing an arm around her shoulders.

"'Eyy gurl. 'Ow's it crackin'?"

Esha didn't see Esteban approaching, too far in a daydream to look. After a mini heart attack as soon as she realized she wasn't alone in the courtyard she cautioned herself against drifting off like that again; next thing would be bumping into walls or tripping over uneven surfaces on the floor.

Stumbling, bumping and falling around the place wouldn't be good. Bruises took a while to heal so avoiding them was wise. Not to look silly either, if nothing else.

"Not bad, Yourself?" the stone girl replied to Esteban's question, not protesting the arm slung over her shoulder. After what happened at the new year's ball it didn't seem like a big deal. The stone girl hadn't really seen him much since then but that could be put down to hanging round at different places.

Esteban honestly wasn't sure how he felt about Esha. First there was the scene right after he had entered the school for the first time, and then, during the Winter Ball, she had became one of the notches on his belt. The more recent memory was a pleasant one, and his arm hadn't been shrugged off, so Esteban was willing to forgive her the deceitfully youthful appearance having caught him off-guard. Past the initial shock, it didn't really matter.

He let out an exaggerated sigh of relief, leaning onto her slightly as he continued walking alongside her. "Much be'a, now dat yous 'ere." He ran his hand through his hair, glad that for once it was clean, as he thought over what subject to touch upon. There were many less sour ones, but he had to know all about what he'd missed, perhaps due to some fit of masochism.
"So, yo were in dere, righ'?..." he asked, gesturing towards the tower that loomed over them. From this angle, the damage wasn't very visible at all.

With an arm around her shoulder, her arm in facing felt a bit awkward just hanging in the space between them. It was bearable for now but Esha would take measures to make sure she had something to rest her hand on. In time, of course, a move to fast could stunt the chance.

Esha had a little sly, small grin of sorts away from Esteban while she was looking to the tower, the stone girl looked back and nodded "Yeah, I was. Crazy stuff." She said simply with a slightly tilted head, supposing Owen told him she was present. Or maybe it was just a guess; Irrelevant anyway. It would only be so long before people wondering what happened in there got to witnesses to ask.

"Where were you when it all went down?" -quite literally her mind finished of the sentence with but Esha found little joy in the joke. The question was asked with a little curiosity, but nothing too eager sounding.

Subconsciously, Esteban leaned in Esha's direction as he stared at her with greedy eyes, as if there was any chance of missing her report on that odd night's events. It turned out that there wasn't much to be missed at all, and he scoffed, moving away from her... as much as the still-wrapped-around arm would allow, anyway. While she seemed rather apathetic about the subject, he was anything but.

"I need details." he hissed, raising his hand with fingers curled in desperation that she was, apparently, causing. "Details, shorty. I was chasin' monsters 'round. Caught none."

Angrily, he kicked at the ground.

"Bummer, yanno? For once, sumthin' cool 'appens, 'n'ay jus' gatta miss it."

Esha's eyebrows flew up in alarm at him kicking the ground. He really needed to chill. Or maybe it was her that was too chilled out. Either way, the stone girl would have a heart attack on of these days.

Bummer- Missing the chance to get hit on the head with a brick, or even better- buried by rubble thought Esha with biting sarcasm, with a little prissy, childish sounding 'hmmph' in protest as she pouted for a moment. Exciting... The whole incident wasn't exciting, in her humble opinion. Not at all. Although any displeasure disappeared from her quickly, within a second. Esha would continue-

"There was these black-birds, swarms of them, and they were making a really creepy noises on the third floor of the library so me and a few others went there and found was a ...corpse- and it screamed. Then the Science teacher's room crashed through the floor." She said, with a non-commital smile and a shrug. Hopefully that was enough and he would drop the topic.

"What kinda monsters were you chasing?" The stone girl asked him, not sure why he would be chasing them. Although she had gone following the birds so that was kind of the same.

It wasn't as if he could have missed Esha's disapproval, as he was paying close attention, but even if it had not disappeared soon, he would have ignored it. There were more important matters at hand. Like hearing all about what he had been excluded from by a cruel twist of fate.

When she started speaking, he leaned in again, reaching with his free hand to tuck his stiff hair behind a pointed ear, as if that could help his hearing. Feathery beasts, feasting on a screeching corpse... Wow.
"How kin yo be so... so..." he sputtered. "Unimpressed!? I'd kill to see dat!" Esteban let go, shoving her a little in the process, to trace a hourglass figure in the air in front of him. "Dat sorta monster." He grinned. "She ain't 'av no 'ead, but, hey." Restlessly, he bounced to the front of Esha and gave her a curious look. "So didja almost die?"

He had to bite his lip to stop himself from continuing to talk and give the girl a chance to respond.

“Almost getting hurt or killed isn't my idea of fun” Esha said, giving him a strange, briefly narrow eyed look. Confused. Was he for real? The fact it had gotten her looking at the ceilings more often was only one of the reasons for having a disdain towards the incident. Although no, Esteban was really wound up by the whole thing. Not fooling at all.

The stone girl was was a bit concerned but she waited for him to stop talking before she would answer any of his next question. Stopped walking with a jerked, surprised movement as he jumped in front of her. Jeez...

“heh, cool- I want that ghosty thing next time round...Nah, I might have though, if I’d actually been reading. Any reason for the curiosity?” She inquired with an amused grin, thinking that going on the defensive would increase interest. Even more.

Esteban gave a wide shrug as he rolled his eyes and blew a raspberry. "I thotcha wur more fun." he said accusatorily. With that, he took a step back, watching her with disbelief. How could she be so... nonplussed by the event? Incredible. She was living in a castle that could randomly spawn monstrous phantoms or start falling apart, and instead of being excited all she could think of that she could get a scratch? Esteban's eyes narrowed. "Y'sound as old as yo are." he muttered through his teeth, then spun around on his heel and started off, rigid and as if offended.

Becca hadn't gotten around to unpacking yet, so she was currently travelling the school with the usual red hair, bat man shirt and boots. The yellow track jacket, however, had been left behind. Today she'd get a feel for the school, figure out where everything was and visit places slightly more interesting than a storage room. Maybe she'd stopped by the infirmary and see if that girl, Jami, was there.

For the moment, though, she was still on the ground floor of the building, and she happened to pass the courtyard that held what had apparently become something of a landmark in the school. The BAT. It was literally a big-ass tree and nothing more. Looking the window, however, she saw two figures, one of which she recognized.

It was that green kid. Esteban. The one who'd run away, not once, but twice. She wondered if talking to him now would be awkward for either of them.. Oh well, if she wasn't going outside to talk to him then she at least wanted to meet the other girl.

Becca exited the building and entered the courtyard, briefly looking between the two people that were already in it. "What's up, guys? Hope I'm not interrupting anything~"
