A Slice Of Pai. Empty A Slice Of Pai.

"Oh god. Oh my god." Pai said to himself, regretting leaving his wallet after dropping it in the sand, running off, then running straight back to pick his wallet back up, in case it was needed at the school.

After all this ruckus, Pai was seriously tired out.

"Really, why did I even decide to walk here...I should have taken a taxi..." he muttered aloud to himself.

Lemmer began chattering rapidly, probably insults in his own midget creature language.

"Pfffft, Lem, you're so cute when you squeak." He said, after stopping to take a breath, then reaching his hand out to pet Lemmer's forehead.

Lemmer then bit his index finger, as a sign of "DO. NOT. WANT."

Pai began to chuckle a bit, stood up straight, brushed off some sand, and looked straight ahead.

"By the way...where were we going?" Pai stated, as he tried to remember as much as possible from the letter. He was in too much of a hurry to pull it out and waste more time, as he was already late, the semester had probably started already.

"Ga-hah~ I'm such an idiot." He said, smacking his head with his palm gently in a pathetic way.

"Well, Lemmer, it's time to get a move on." Pai whispered, as he began to jog towards a nearby blue building, with Lemmer flapping with the wind, scurrying as Pai jogged, just to keep his balance.

As he walked down the pavement, Owen couldn't help but have second thoughts about attending this academy. He hadn't been to real school for years, nor had he ever cared much for education. But it was either this or foster care, and Owen would opt for this anyday.

He noticed a rather strange looking man with pink hair, and immediately cringed. He knew, just from afar, that this man was going to make him regret ever accepting that invitation.

He was jogging, as if in a rush, and Owen felt no enthusiasm to try and catch up with him, for more reasons than simply being unfit. "Hey!!" he yelled, hoping he could hear him. He probably knew the way to this Academy thing. If he didn't hear him, he would follow behind at a safe distance, also heading towards the blue building.

The door to the tavern swung open, the hinges grinding against the grains of sand that had long become lodged in from the wind. Worn boots clunked against the wooden floor boards as the man exited the building. The old hat was tucked down firmly, shadowing the man's leathery face. His salted jacket moved lightly in the friendly breeze that beckoned him back to the sea. The trod of his step was reduced to a dull thud as he crossed onto the sand, slowly making his way across the beach towards the swaying dock. An empty fish net was slung over his shoulder, the other hand was carrying an old metal box, flecked with rust and red paint that hadn't chipped off. It could only be assumed that inside was more fishing equipment.

Hendry heard a distant shout, he promptly cast it from his mind, deciding it was not for him. The students had, for the most part, been ferried over and the semester had started. The chances of it being someone heading to Lillegard were slim, and if they were here for a ride, then Hendry only hoped he could get to his boat unseen.

"Ah-! Lemmer, I believe we have found someone!"

He picked up pace, ignoring a distant shout, and running toward a figure standing near the blue building.

He had a delighted look on his face, waving his hand in the air like mad, hoping it would catch the man's attention.

"Excuse me, do you know of Lie-lay-gaa-d?" he shouted, unsure of how to pronounce the school on the letter.

Lemmer began biting onto Pai's shoulder, hoping to get a grip so he wouldn't fly off this crazy man.

Pai just looked at Lemmer, smiled, and ran into something.

"Pffffffffffffffffft- Oh, I'm sorry!" He said to the blue building he had just ran into.

Lemmer shook his head in frustration.

As he neared the building, he watched, dumbfounded as the man seemed to plant his face directly into the side of the the wall. He noticed a lemur clinging to his shoulder, grumbling about something, and he wondered if this man could even understand it.

Owen noticed another man, looking tenfold more sane, but he still felt rather wary about approaching him. The pink haired oaf had called for him anyway, so he didn't feel the need to take any action.

"...You okay?" he asked hesitantly, knowing full fell that he would regret asking.

Hendry stopped walking a moment, hearing another shout.

'Lie-lay-gaa-d?' The boatman huffed and looked over his shoulder with a glare. He watched as the goofy man walked straight into the side of the building. He saw no reason to correct the man, or to see if he was alright. Instead, Hendry only watched passively as another strange kid questioned the seemingly idiotic man.

Again the boatman heaved a sigh and looked out to the sea. He walked neither back to the tavern or towards the boat. If the men needed to get to the island, they would have to produce some letters to him. If they didn't, well then he went on his planned fishing trip.

"Eh?" Pai questioned, as he thought the building responded.

"Erm, yeah! I'm okay~! Hehe...."

He began to walk dizzily in circles, wondering what he was doing moments before.

"...uh...Oh yeah! Hey, Lemmer, we were going to talk to that ol' guy over there, right?" He said, accusedly pointing at Henry.

He then grinned, as if sucessful.

Pai walked to Henry, and patted him on the shoulder.
"G'day, mate! Dost thou knoweth of uh...Lil'eh'gaad?"

As the man stumbled around as if he was drunk, Owen found himself to be automatically slidinng his palm into his face. It was going to be a long year.

As Pai intruded the old man's privacy, he couldn't held but feel sorry for the fellow. Deciding he might need clarification on the situation, he held up a crumpled piece of paper, barely recognisable as the invitation. "This thing here said some old dude would boat us somewhere," he explained, finding it tenfold more informative than the pink haired one's question. "Can you, uuh..." With a blank face, he pointed at the docks, assuming he knew what he meant.
