Post  Zerda Vulpes Mon May 02, 2011 10:53 pm

Zerda had followed Valentin carefully out of the window and smiled at how they had exited the castle. It was fun how Valentin sprung a little surprising act like that on him, it made the night life even better. With blanket in hand he followed the faun out to the field where Zerda found himself smiling. He perked his ears up 100% now that he was in hunting grounds. The only difference between his desert hunt and the field one was that there was grass here and soil rather than sand. Literally taking his head he threw himself down onto the ground and placed his ears onto the earths soil and listened carefully, "To your earlier question Val, no I have never hunted a dear...your all to big for me......I..." At moments he paused when he felt he heard something, then continued when he confirmed it was nothing, "...I like to hunt for anything smaller than me like families of mice and snakes.....and......uh....."

At that moment he smiled at the sound of scurrying under his feet and he followed it till stopped. Thats when he began to dig into the earth in a rapid pace till he finally came to a small nest of chipmunks. He smiled as the mother had seemed to leave in a panicked manner and he was left with the defenseless children. Looking over at Valentin for a moment he smiled then turned back around and began picking them up one by one. Staring at them he played with them like little dolls as the squealed with fear and pain at the hands of the little fox. As the sun was setting Zerda's eyes glistened like those of a cat in the window sill of ones house and his hunger became more aggressive. Taking one little chipmunk he held it over his head and smiled as he opened his mouth.

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

Post  Valentin Mon May 02, 2011 11:13 pm

The walk out was enjoyable for Valentin. In this half-light the eyes of a deer were actually at their best. The faun's pupils were wide and his ears attentive to the world around them. When they arrived in the field, Valentin watched Zerda curiously as the fox fussed about the earth. He would've admitted he was relieved to learn that Zerda's kind were not deer hunters. But he frowned when Zerda seemed to have found something. He heard the quiet squeaks and hastily pressed a fist against his mouth to keep from doing something embarrassing like shouting out, or better yet, whimpering fearfully. Wincing did nothing but make him feel guilty while he allowed the playing to continue. What could he do? He had to respect that his friend was a meat-eater, and a hunter.

Deer eyes grew wide when Zerda dangled one of the munklings over his mouth. It was like watching something so horrible that you couldn't turn away. And before he'd made up his mind to do anything, Valentin had swooped down nearer the fox and the unfortunate prey, his fingers gingerly encompassing the dangling meal. He blinked owlishly, looking from his hands that protected the chipmunk to the face of his friend, and he wasn't sure what to say about his action. So he just offered an awkwardly stressed smile and tried to discreetly remove the small thing from his friend's grasp.

"Comon, that can't be fun.. they're totally defenseless." He tilted his head to the side as if studying his friend. "I thought you wanted to run. This field is huge!" To encourage the fact, the faun glanced around the darkening field briskly. "Tons of room to run.. fast as you like." His proposal was almost pleading. He really didn't want to watch his friend consume the poor chipmunks.

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

Post  Zerda Vulpes Mon May 02, 2011 11:42 pm

Zerda could almost taste the little chipmunk hit his taste buds and the flavor pour over his tongue and down his throat till a sudden grip on him and the prey interrupted his thoughts. Opening his eyes he looked over to the prey, then the hand, then followed up it till he spotted Valentin next to him. He had barely noticed him in the first place, if anything he forgot he was there as his hunger overtook his mind. Looking once more at the meal then back again at his friend he frowned as he kept him from devouring the little thing. Sure the thing was defenseless but thats what made eating the thing so much fun. There was no fighting and no unnecessary scratches and bites as they just slipped in and down they went.

Waiting for a moment he sighed and let go of the small thing so that Valentin could do what he wanted to with it. He lowered his head and sighed, "Well i'm hungry!....then again I do wanna run...." He slowly looked up and smiled. "Valentin...can we have dinner in the castle...but before hand....can I chase after you and pretend to hunt you! I still like to have the experience!" He said as he hopped in place where he sat. He had always wanted to chase something that was bigger than him, but now he knew that he wouldn't be chased back if it was something he was good friends with. With that he stood up and pulled Valentin up quickly to his feet. He pulled his shoulders back and lowered his ears in a playful manner and smiled with his tongue out, "Pwease, pwease, pwease!" He said with a baby voice as he had hoped that the faun would agree to the small game of cat and mouse.

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

Post  Valentin Tue May 03, 2011 12:55 am

Valentin watched hopefully as Zerda's gaze drifted between him and the chipmunk currently protected by the faun's fingers. He swallowed thickly when his friend frowned, very nervous for the small prey. As soon as Zerda released his hold, Valentin withdrew his hands quickly to huddle the small thing protectively against his chest. He peered down to make sure it was still alive and ok. It seemed fine, if not a little shaken. He was relieved when Zerda asked to eat in the castle. At least the meat there was already dead, and the faun wouldn't have to watch the killing. But as he lowered the chipmunk carefully back into it's home with the others, he shot Zerda a perplexed look.

"..Chase me?" With the chipmunks scurrying frightened into some out of sight area, Valentin lifted his eyes to gaze out over the field again, considering. He was startled when Zerda suddenly tugged him to his feet. "Woah! Oh--ah.. Well, okay. I guess so?" He didn't sound completely sure. What if Zerda got too into it and actually bit the deer or something? But Zerda pinned his ears back and stuck his tongue out and Valentin melted a little. Resolve visibly crumbled and the faun was smirking fondly again and nodding his consent. "Alright, but you better keep up!"

The faun stood straight and lifted his arms above his head, stretching and cracking his spine for show. He went about removing his vest, placing it aside on the grass, and paused only briefly before doing the same with his trousers. Mildly shaking his head at himself, he briefly pondered his modesty. He'd lived in the world of humans for too long and it was just him and Zerda anyway, the naked fox-boy wonder. With his garments set aside so he wouldn't tear them, the wind felt like it should. He crouched like a sprinter before a race and glanced up at his friend with a playful gleam in his eye. "You ready?" But with a quick grin, he didn't wait for a response before kicking off the earth. Front hooves hit the grass and the black deer was off across the field.

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

Post  Zerda Vulpes Wed May 04, 2011 12:13 am

Zerda watched as the little meals scattered away into hiding and he sighed with a bit of disapointment. They looked so juicy that it seemed to be a waste, but he now was able to have fun with the faun he had so much care for. He grinned when the faun decided to agree with him and then his grin grew wider as he watched the faun literally strip before him. He had nearly forgotten that the faun was able to change forms if needed, then he watched as he stayed in his human form as he readied himself to sprint away. As the question was asked Zerda was abut to answer but instead was hit with gravel that picked up from the ground and hit him in the face. Coughing slightly as he inhailed some of the dust he shook his head and shook his head and ignored his clothes as he tossed them to the ground. "You're such a cheater.... now I must devour you"

Once more he was naked, and by the gods it felt great! With a stretch of his leg he quickly chased after the faun in a hungry matter. Though he was behind, he felt that the space between them was growing smaller as he continued to run. Before long he was in nearly two arm reaches from his prey. Watching the behind of the faun he decided to not try to attack him just yet as this was by far to fun. As stated before he enjoyed a little fun with his food before catching it and that was no different for his friend. On occasion Zerda would swipe his hand at Valentin and would laugh in a sarcastic tone to indicate an aw man almost had you, statement.

Slowing down for a moment he noticed the smell of the faun and his heart spiked. Valentin was right, chasing your meals was more fun and with this in mind he could feel his animal instincts come into play. Speeding up once more with the pump of new adrenaline in his body he jumped into the air at the faun hoping to capture him and sink his teeth into the small frame of the deer. With a glisten in his eyes he smiled as his mouth opened and awaited for the taste of faun.

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

Post  Valentin Thu May 05, 2011 10:16 pm

The night air was biting in his lungs as Valentin raced across the field, and it felt magnificent. He was attentive to remaining somewhat relaxed, however, so that the excitement of running would not exert his nerves so far as to carry him off towards the forest as if he were really being hunted. It was hard to stop running once you're muscles were convinced they had to flee. So he mindfully weaved back and forth when Zerda's arm would swat at him, and he laughed joyfully to himself when he heard the mirth of his friend behind him.

The pace was fast, but unforced, and Valentin expected that the fox would catch him sooner or later. He was prepared for the tumble should Zerda target his ankles, and was not terribly panicked when he felt the weight of his friend on the croup of his back. Almost immediately following, however, was the sharp sting that reverberated up his spine. This, he had failed to anticipate.

The bite to his lower back sent a jolt of nervous energy which his limbs translated into speed. Kicking harder off the ground, the running quickly turned into a chain of leaps that propelled the deer farther, faster. But Valentin fought it. His leaps grew stiff because at the same time as the 'flee' reaction tried to take over, the faun was wary of tossing his friend from him, and possibly causing him harm should he fall off. Eventually, after only several bounds in this manner, the deer managed to slow himself as they breached a grassy hilltop. He turned them round, hooves still hopping excitedly off the ground while he contended with his instincts to remain in one spot, and he tossed his head back to try and get a look at Zerda. His eyes were still wide with confusion and disorientation cause by the throbbing ache in his back. A heavy huff was released from his muzzle and his chest still heaved from the excitement.

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

Post  Zerda Vulpes Thu May 05, 2011 11:07 pm

Zerda had not realized how excited he was just to chase smething as his legs just gave him the instant energy to take down the faun that ran from him. After his teeth dug into Valentin's back he instantly felt the blood rush into his mouth and the taste was just amazing! He felt his ideal meal stiffen then fall to the ground as he continued to hold his grip around the flesh chunk that was in his mouth. He loosened his grip as the little framed faun began to jerk around in one spot on the ground and Zerda stared at him with a strange look of "what are you doing?" on his face. Zerda licked the blood off of his lips and he smiled as he felt like he wanted to have more and that the source was dancing around right in front of him. Stretching, he felt his body loosen and was ready to attack again and for once he didn't care to stop for anyones sake. The run, the air in your face, then the ability to grab the prey, oooh how these added up to being a new experience, which now felt like a drug to him.

He wanted more and he would get more. Peering once more at the faun he no longer saw the face on him, he just saw the fact that it was a free meal. Getting on all fours he circled around Valentin and eyed every movement that he made. Every leg flicker, every sputter of air escaping his airways, and then the wide eyed look that he threw at him. Those eyes....they were Valentin's. Zerda stopped his circling and sat down like a dog would and he felt his tail flick back and forth. Those eyes, were more than just a meals pleading eyes, they were his friends. Zerda sighed as he felt his adrenaline drop and his urge to eat anything in his path drop....or well so he though as he soon found himself popping insects back into his mouth once more. He crawled over to Valentin and hugged him from behind. He felt the blood from Valentin's bite marks and he whimpered. "Sorry...just was excited...I didn't mean to eat you..."

Zerda really did feel sorry for what he did, but it seemed being away from home made him feel the urge for more excitement.

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

Post  Valentin Thu May 05, 2011 11:43 pm

Before Zerda let go, it took a great deal of self-control to not lash out and strike with his hooves. He was thankful when the pressure of teeth in his skin finally let up and he could put a little more distance between them.

The way the fox was looking at him made Valentin very nervous. The only thing keeping him from bolting was the fact that this was Zerda. Obviously, his friend had just taken their little game a bit too seriously... But that was an understatement. Valentin continued to dance nervously on his hooves, turning as Zerda circled him, trying not to allow the hunter to get behind him again. His ears swiveled about uncertainly, and the heat of the fresh wound on his back was distracting. With a wince, his knees folded, seamlessly slipping back into his typical Valentin-self as he slumped to the ground. Kneeling now, he reached behind him awkwardly to press his fingers against the bite, and hissed when the dirt from his hands made the wound smart. He blinked down at his hand and absently rubbed his fingers together as if he wasn't sure the blood evidence was really there. Zerda really bit him?

The faun nearly jumped out of his skin when Zerda appeared behind him, but he calmed when he found himself in a hug only. Another heavy sigh escaped him, trying to release some of the pent-up stress. His hands rose to gently clutch Zerda's forearms, thankful that whatever had just happened, the fox seemed to be himself again. Valentin tilted his head to try and glance at his friend over his shoulder.

"Hey, that's--" He paused to swallow thickly because the shakiness in his voice betrayed how much nervousness was still left over. "..That's alright." He released another calming breath when his 'reassuring' tone came out far too forced. The short laugh that followed was similarly anxious. "You didn't eat me." There was another short pause as he turned his head to look forwards again, but one ear remained trained on the fox positioned behind him. "No worries."

He hoped Zerda wouldn't notice the way his heart was still hammering against his ribcage. He didn't wish him to feel guilty. Valentin had denied him his meal earlier anyway, so it could very well be the faun's own fault.

Post  Zerda Vulpes Sun May 08, 2011 12:44 am

Zerda snuggled up to the faun as he was glad he didn't try t flee him after what he had just done. He listened to the short responds of the dear and he tilted his head trying to understand the meanings behind them. After a moment f cnfusin he shrugged and figured Valentin was not made, maybe scared a bit and cnfused, but nt mad. Just t be sure though Zerda apologized once more and sat up. He pulled the cloth frm his arm and wrapped it around his waist. He smiled at his amazing snug wrapping then looked into the fauns eyes. "So, when we have dinner, i'll make sure to carry some around with me so I won't feel the urge to eat you...but chasing was fun! You were right about it being better than just eating the helpless."

Zerda laughed a bit then layed down and cuddled closer to Valentin. He looked up into the sky as the sun had seemed to have set, revealing the stars that hid behind the rays of the sun. It was funny how the stars were not the same as home, was it that they changed based on where one was on the planet? observing them he found himself closing his eyes and thinking back of home once more. He felt that stupid home sick feeling again and he just wanted it to go away. There was nothing there for him anymore and he didn't know why he thought so much about. There was only the little den he had called home and the only thing he had of any value there was just the bones he collected from the dead animals he had hunted.

Shaking the mind of home out of his head he looked over at Valentin and smiled, "I don't think i'll ever go home...I want to stay here with you under the stars forever." He said as he brushed a little hair aside, nearly exposing his eyes. Thinking about what Valentin had said about him not caring if he had a face r not made his smile and he couldn't help but laugh.

This faun was the best thing that had happened to him and he tried to eat him. If anything was anymore confusing he wouldn't dare to find it. "Valentin, lets get back otherwise we may die from the cool weather here on this island." Standing up he stretched and offered an arm down to his friend.

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

"Thanks.." Zerda's wrapping his wound brought a small smile to Valentin's face and he looked up to meet his gaze. He nodded and scoffed quietly, amused by the fox's plan to carry around food. The way Zerda cuddled back up to him reassured the faun almost instantly and completely that he had nothing to fear from this friend. Hunter or no, Zerda was sweet and currently proving impossible to become cross with.

Valentin enjoyed the moment of quiet they shared looking up at the sky before tearing his eyes away from the little lights to find Zerda's face. Stay with me under the stars forever? He was silent a moment wondering how one should respond. It was.. romantic but Zerda seemed to spout these things that made your heart beat harder, and Valentin was a little surprised to find himself quietly hoping that these things weren't spouted with everyone. He shrugged nonchalantly to help mentally brush off his embarrassing musings. "I wouldn't be opposed to that." He grinned when Zerda laughed and a disquisitive gleam passed over his gaze when Zerda nearly exposed what lay hidden behind his bangs.

The fox's comment about the cool weather brought to mind the electric blanket, and the fact that is must have been left behind with their clothing. Valentin nodded and accepted the offered hand, pulling himself to his hooves. He did his best to quell the wince when the movement pulled on the bite wound and he was quickly realizing what a bad spot it was in. He had been distracted from it enough for the pain to be merely a dull throbbing in the back of his mind, but it stung when he tried to move the nearby muscles. He would have to be mindful while stepping.

The faun had yet to release his friend's hand as he stared curiously at those bangs. He absently chewed on his bottom lip as he tended to do when he was thinking or debating heatedly with himself. His free hand raised of its own accord and fingertips reached to sweep the hair from Zerda's face, but he hesitated when the brown locks tickled his skin. The look in his eyes was silently imploring Zerda to allow him to continue.

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

Post  Zerda Vulpes Mon May 09, 2011 1:10 pm

Zerda had enjoyed there time under the stars and he had wished it would not have ended. The cold though was starting to get to him and he had not wanted to just pass out all sprawled out over Valentin like the night before, especially since he had a wound that seemed worse than he though once he saw the faun stand up. He followed the hand that held his up to his feet and he smiled at the gesture that Valentin had attempted with his hand. He had not pulled away when Valentin touched his bangs, then again he had not pursued him to continue. Zerda was not quite sure what kept him from showing his friend, besides the fact he believed that his own eyed were the curse of the world. His smiled trailed off as he thought, but soon returned with a cute response from the touch. "If I were to show you now, then what other secrets would you so desperately pursue? Seems my eyes interest you to the greatest factors that once mind can mutter, but not yet....not till we are closer."

Had almost forgetting their already close relationship, Zerda had just seemed to want more from the faun and the fact that he knew Valentin wouldn't push made his smile. However, Zerda felt a little sad that he had to keep the faun at bay fr so long. He smiled and placed his head on Valentin's like back in the room and he smiled, "I'll show you something...." He took the fauns hand and manually moved them to his bangs once more and he slowly made them move one clump of hair out of the way revealing a small Egyptian line that curved off of the under half of his eye that remained hidden. "In my clan this was a tattoo bared to rulers, however, mine was there since my birth. I was considered quite special for this."

Zerda lowered Valentin's hand as he sighed a bit releasing a smoke of hot air from his nose. He had not realized how quickly the cold had reached them and he laughed at his absentmindedness. "Shall we head back?" He said as he wrapped Valentin's arm around his shoulder to help support him back to the site, where their clothes were. That night had seemed to an eventful one, more so than the night before. Having a girl attack them, then Valentin and him try to execute her. Then a little night time snack of no chipmunks but dear. It was quite fun though, this he couldn't help but to admit to himself.

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

Post  Valentin Mon May 09, 2011 2:23 pm

Valentin looked so hopeful for a moment when Zerda didn't pull away from his curious fingers, but his words subdued the faun's expression into one that betrayed his disappointment. It occurred to him then that, perhaps, he'd thought them to be closer than Zerda currently did. But he put on a smile for him anyway, because the fox's response was cute.

One ear twitched up when Zerda took his hand and guided it to move aside the small portion of bangs. Valentin's brow furrowed curiously at the marking and his hand was lowered again before he could press the pad of his finger there. He smirked. "So you are destined to be a ruler." It was an obvious response, even if Valentin didn't believe in fate that way. But it certainly contributed to the mystery that was Zerda.

The faun sighed as well and nodded his head. "Alright, let's head back." He smiled to himself when Zerda took his arm over his shoulder. Valentin didn't think it was very necessary; the wound stung when he stepped and the muscles pulled on the torn skin, but he wasn't about to keel over. But he accepted the support anyway because it was kind of Zerda, and maybe the proximity would help keep his friend a little warmer on the trek back towards the blanket.

When they arrived where they'd ditched their clothing, Valentin slipped his arm from Zerda's support and scooped up the blanket, swirling the fabric loosely about Zerda's shoulders before going about anything else. Next he gingerly hopped on one hoof while he struggled back into his trousers, trying not to bend too much. The vest he tucked under his belt to hang off the side of his hip. The small wound made his back feel hot, and the cool air was actually a welcome relief.

Valentin was silent for a moment then as he stepped past his friend, his mind still stuck on moments ago when he had been denied. If Zerda didn't trust him, well, it hurt the faun more than he thought it should have. He folded one arm casually across his chest while the other pretended to be quite busy fussing with a thread from the bandage. "You don't need a secret to keep my interest." He kept his back to his friend so that if Zerda wanted to pretend he didn't hear and let the subject drop, Valentin wouldn't contradict him.

Zerda helped Valentin over to the location of the clothes and he held the blanket that Valentin wrapped around him tight as the heat began to welcome him with open arms. He smiled and snuggled into it like a baby would in a mothers arms. Taking a moment he picked up his clothes and looked at them as they seemed to have collected no dirt that was noticeable. He smiled at this, but decided that perhaps later on he would create something new to wear. Zerda found himself laughing a bit though as Valentin mentioned his royal position. He nodded and smirked, "I was one... it was just my mother was still alive." He looked back over at Valentin as Zerda felt a slight uneasiness in the air. He tilted his head to the way Valentin had positioned himself and he sighed as he heard the words that came out of his mouth.

He walked over to Valentin slowly and he gently wrapped his arms around Valentin's still exposed chest and he smiled sadly. He didn't want Valentin to feel like they didn't already have a great relationship, he just still felt a little scared. He leaned his head over the fauns shoulder and stared at the side of Valentin's face, "Valentin....I don't know how to say it, but I think the words are, I l-....love you." Zerda cuddled closer as he blushed, forgetting his naked stature and he held onto Valentin tight. "I just...I enjoy your attention...and I don't ever want you to stop liking me....i'm sorry." He said as he sniffled a bit. He leaned in and kissed the faun on the cheek, and this moment to him was just wonderful as the stars seemed to twinkle in approval from above.

Zerda laid his head on his shoulder and he took in a deep breathe as he relaxed himself a bit. He smiled at the way Valentin's ears would flick back and forth depending on the situation and sometimes he just wanted to nibble on them to feel the little muscles twitch in his mouth. It seemed oh so fun, but that he left alone. Zerda's tail flicked back a forth for a moment and he smiled down at it as it too seemed to approve the loving warmth between them. He watched as is slowly wrapped its way around the faun and relaxed itself. Zerda soon found himself nibbling on Valentin's neck like before and he couldn't seem to pull away. He just wanted Valentin to be happy and for them to be by each others side forever.

Both ears flipped backwards quickly, slightly startled when Zerda's arms were felt circling Valentin's torso. Nerves, which had nearly settled before they'd even begun to fire up, suddenly jumped into the faun's throat as Zerda's confession floated tauntingly into his ears. Valentin gaped stupidly while he struggled to decide on what to voice. Should he respond? How do you respond to that anyway? Is he supposed to say 'I love you too'? Did he?? Did Zerda really know what that meant or was the deer just misinterpreting? Maybe he'd imagined it! But he knew he hadn't. The faun was saved from responding immediately because Zerda continued to speak, elaborating on his feelings. And Valentin's heart swelled endearingly at the peck, and painfully because Zerda was apologizing for liking him.

Valentin glanced down when he felt the tail wrap around him as well. Distracted by that, he nearly let lose a quiet and undignified yelp at the sensation of Zerda's mouth on his neck, barely managing to slap a hand over his own mouth to contain to noise. In the back of his mind, he didn't want to have to explain any marks to anyone who might notice, but his eyes were shutting submissively and he hardly noticed his head lolling slightly to the side without his permission to offer Zerda more space. When he felt another noise fighting to escape the confines of his palm over his mouth, he suddenly realized how quickly Zerda was subduing him, and his eyes snapped back open.

Gingerly prying himself from his friend's nibbling, he moved away enough to give himself space to turn. In one fluid movement--before he could lose again to his nerves and completely escape the haze in his brain that the fox had created--Valentin had twisted around, moved his hand from his own face to the side of his friend's, and snuck his head down for a daring and feather-light brush over Zerda's lips.

The kiss didn't last even a full second because upon contact, the faun quickly retreated a couple inches, sobering instantly, eyes wide and terribly fearful that he could have done to Zerda what Eska had earlier done to himself; thieving a first kiss without permission. He tried to mumble an apology but he wasn't sure the words made it out.

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

Zerda was so focused on the fauns neck and he was even more so once more room was made as he tilted his head off to the side. He took this and put more effort into the neck and was glad Valentin was enjoying this. He flicked his tail around a bit playfully on the faun before he felt a sudden jerk of his friend pull away. However, this time it wasn't to stay away. He watched as he turned and came closer. It felt like slow motion as the lips of the faun grew closer and Zerda felt like he finally understood how Valentin's heart would sometimes throb as fast as it did. He watched as Valentin's face went from clear to blurry as he gt closer and he smiled as the faun made the sweet and gently attempt to contact the kiss.

Yes it was short and questionable to be a kiss at all, but that didn't matter as Valentin loved it either way. He smiled as Valentin and he felt an overwhelming emtion flow over his whole body. He looked at the face of Valentin and he chuckled to himself as he watched his mouth form the words i'm sorry. Zerda shook his head as he gently grasped his chin and pulled him closer, "Why should you be sorry? You love me right?" He said as he pulled Valentin into a simple and gentle kiss. It felt strange kissing, but it seemed ones body was built for these things, and knew everything that was needed to interact with the one it loved. Zerda pulled back and felt his face grow as hot as the sun on the other side of the world and he covered his face a bit to hide it as he laughed. He lowered his hands once he felt his face cool a bit and he cuddled once more into Valentin.

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

A great flood of relief washed over Valentin when Zerda brushed away his concerns with a quiet chuckle and an innocent question. He tried to nod dumbly but then they were kissing again--a little more properly--and for a moment Valentin forgot to breath. His brain grew fuzzy again and his limbs tingled like when he's neurotically fearing or running for his life, but this time it felt nice.

When Zerda pulled back and buried his face in his hands, Valentin would have been worried if it wasn't for the laughter that followed. He grinned widely and his face was on fire but he hardly noticed as the fox snuggled against him again. The faun's arms found a place wrapped securely about Zerda's back, sharing in the warmth of the blanket. His brows furrowed a little then. He wanted to say something but the words were like a foreign language and he envied how easily these things seemed to come to Zerda.

"I think.. that I love you." He stared hard at the dark grass around their feet. In his nervous and doubtful mind, there was no way it could be true. They'd known each other for too short an amount of time to be saying such things, but it was the longest two days Valentin could ever recall. He'd never been in love so it confused him, but maybe it was just like this; maybe it kind of sneaks up out of no where and time has no effect. He decided to consult Kale on it later. Owls are supposed to be wise right? She'd know. But for now, he had to go by the hammering in his chest, and that just demanded that he keep Zerda close and safe for as long as he could. He was finally feeling as he knew the stags must feel when they fight for their hinds and their fawns, only his was this fox. And so he nodded and repeated with more decisiveness, "I do love you."

He released a somewhat shaky sigh, letting out some of the stress that came with over-thinking that statement, and awkwardly pulled back from the cuddle so he could look down at Zerda, and perhaps they could finally make their way towards the castle. He grinned bashfully and slipped his hand into his friend's. "Dinner time."

Nocturnal Hunting Empty Re: Nocturnal Hunting

Zerda had found himself lost in the word that came out from the fauns mouth and he couldn't help but smile at every movement and every sound he made. The area around them was comforting and it gave Zerda the feeling that this was a perfect day adnd that it couldn't be ruined by anything. Feeling the arms around him he blushed and smiled as the faun seemed to debate over his words of love. Taking this moment he thought of a quick moment in which he knew would be in the near future. He would cuddle up to Valentina and held him tight in the warmth of his bed and there they would talk of deeper meanings to their love and feelings for another.

Was this how one who was in love really felt? It seemed so strange how things like this could happen and how they just would seem to pop up on the expecting. Just as that thought slipped through his mind he heard the worlds of I love you come from the fauns mouth and he smiled with a quiver of his lip. He was so happy that those words escaped the secret lips of him. Valentin meant more to him than he had known and here it showed that he thought the same. He looked the direction Valentin was gesturing to when he had grabbed his hand and he smiled. The thought of food had been hidden, but was still there.

He nodded and tightened his grip that was on his own from Valentin's and nodded, "Of course, dinner with you sounds just fine..." He smiled once more and then began to walk the way to the castle once more. Watching the stars twinkle once more before looking back to Valentin made him sniffle and almost shed a tear. Though this tear was one of happiness, not sad, it had slipped down the side of his face and found its way to the ground below where is trickled gown the blades of grass. He whipped the trail f liquid off of his face and sighed in relief. "Before you worry, I will say that it was for the fact that I have met you. Promise to be mine forever." He said in a gentle voice as to keep just to them. Seemed their walk was shorter than expected as they appeared to near the steps of the castle entrance.
