Food at last, and some new friends, or not?

Jami was glad that Aesis had followed her. She realized he never said why he was in the dungeons, "Why?" she said pouinting back the way they had just come. "I was Wandering." Suddenly Jami found the smell of food. Finally! she had been wandering around all day looking for some food. She ran into the dining hall and looked around for food. Not many people where in the room, so it must have been on of those days where you come, eat, then go. Unless she was early or late. Her stoumache made a noise loud enough for everyone to hear.

Owen was seated on the table to left, doing what he does best, naturally, eating. Empty seats were positioned around him, but he didn't seem to mind sitting by himself. Idly taking a munch out of his burger, he didn't seem to be paying much attention to reality as he stared off into space. It was only until he heard the rumble of Jami's stomach that he turned his head to look at the newcomers. Not recognising girl, and hardly knowing the boy, he turned his gaze away, continuing his meal. He wasn't in the mood to meet new people, but he knew with a sickening dread that they'd probably approach anyway. They always did.

Alicia sat at the end of the table quietly sipping a glass of what appears to be fruit juice with a plate of gravy chicken and some chips. She was trying not to direct attention to herself, after losing her way from Lunie she had discovered this was where to eat food. Since she was rather peckish she decided to stay for a while and hope Lunie would find her instead. cutting the chicken into bits then stabbing the bits with the end of her fork swirling it around the plate collecting the gravy and taking a bite, munching in delight at the taste of her favorite food.

Finishing her food she turned and noticed some other people in the room, she wondered if she should meet them or leave. One appeared to be Owen who she met earlier with Lunie, maybe he'd know something about Lunie's whereabouts.

Unsure what she asked him, he merely smiled at her stomach's growling, slightly finding it amusing.

Trying to solve the problem, he summoned a banana, handing it to her.

He saw two other people, both seeming to be strangers to him. "Huh." he managed to mutter, glancing at them back and forth, wondering if it was worth meeting them.

'Possibly just a waste of my time' he thought.

Jami saw a couple of people look at her. Attention, uh oh. Having her qustions unanswered lead Her to believe he didn't even understand that much English. She would have to get him a book or something. He offered her a banna out of nowhere. She took it anyway and thanked him. "Meal?" she asked pointing at the table. She hoped he would undrestand she couldn't be full on just a banana and would need some more food. Maybe he could tell her where to get some.

Burger finished. That left him with one less excuse to not pay any heed to the newcomers. He'd look awkward there, sitting with nothing to do, and he was a little less than willing to make contact with the others. He nabbed another burger from a plate in the centre of the table. No one would notice.

He saw Alicia sitting elsewhere, and while he didn't consider her to be a close friend, he felt he could at least talk to her. Standing up, he felt as if he should at least say something to the girl and the elf, because they didn't seem to know what to do. "There's seats over there if you wanna... sit," he awkwardly claimed, pointing towards where Alicia was. Without waiting for a reply, he hurried over to Alicia, pulling up an extra seat next to her. "...Hi," he began, still holding his burger. "...How's it been?"

"oh hello Owen" Alicia smiled "it's been good, i lost Lunie somewhere while we were wandering i'm not sure where he's went..." she trailed off "maybe he'll find me here or something." seeing as she now had company she might as well stay, she poured herself another glass of juice and drank some. holding the glass in one hand and resting her head on the other with her elbow on the table. "what about you?" she asked hoping not to have her conversatoin revolve around Lunie though Lunie was one of her friends she knew most and didnt have much else to talk about.

He watched Jami gesture at the table, and he wondered why she would want him to have a table...

He nodded his head no, still a bit confused what was going on.

He lifted his head, watching the two other figures in the room converse.

Jami gave herself a face palm. Talking to him was going to be impossible. A boy came up very quickly and pointed out a table. Migght was well ask him what is going on. Jami motioned for Aesis to ffollow. She went towards the table. "Mind if we join you? It's my first day and I don't know the food system here yet." She waited for a response and made sure Aesis had followed her. He seemed to be the easily lost type.

He followed closely behind Jami, happy to have a friend in places he wasn't sure of. As she approached the table, she said something, and Aesis realized she figured they should sit. He sat in a chair, not waiting for any confirmation.

"Oh." He looked to Alicia as she spoke of Lunie. "No idea where he is," he shrugged. He didn't know much about the strange kid, but Alicia seemed to like him a lot so he refrained himself from saying anything derogatory. Instead, he grinned faintly at her question. "Fine," he bluntly said.

He turned as the two figures approached - a girl he didn't know and the elf. "Oh sure." He pointed to the plates on the table which seemed to have slices of chicken arranged which seemed to be going a little cold. "Help yourself. We do have proper dinners an' stuff, but, uh, everyone's got different eatin' habits, so, uhh, they leave the leftovers out I think..." Embarassed after talking quite a bit, he began to gnaw on the burger he already had in his hand, using it to silence himself.

Alicia took a sip from her glass then looked down at the table and thought about what to do, whether she should stay or go look for Lunie. She waited as the people approched and looked up to face them not sure what to say though Owen had already explained so she just remainded quiet.

Jami sat down next to Aesis, still not knowing these other people. "I am Jami Futter." She said quickly then reached for a plate and took some chicken. She looked to Aesis to see if he would get food too. Was he a vegitarian? If so this food wouldn't suit him. Then again, he had those bananas. Everyone at the table seemed to be uncomfortable. Jami ate the cold chicken slowly even thought she was starving. She didn't want to seem like a pig, even though she was starving. It wasn't a good idea to keep a girl who loves food away from food. Her fast metabolism didn't help either.

He pointed at himself then said "Aesis.", then realized something miraculous. "..you-you can speak elf?!" he said, to Owen (in elf of course). He glanced at Owen strangely, wondering how he knew Elf. Aesis tilted his head slightly, and noticed no pointed ears on Owen either. "..strange.." He paused for a bit, his stomach starting to growl. He then summoned yet another banana, and began eating it.

Looking to Alicia then to Jami then to Aesis, Owen didn't know what to say, using his burger as an excuse not to talk. He allowed them to introduce theirselves, before swallowing. "Owen," he mentioned, before looking to Aesis in surprise at his comment. His power of understanding was remembered, annd he nodded knowingly. "I dun speak elf," he said, which must have sounded ridiculous to Aesis's ears if all he heard was his own language. "But everyone can... sorta understand me. An' I can understand them." He hated having to explain these things - not to mention, it probably sounded like he was talking to himself to Jami and Alicia. He shrugged. "I take it you don't speak English?"

"ah i'm Alicia" she mentioned not wanting to be out of the loop yet she looked away and stared at the table as if, if she looked long enough something interesting might appear. She fiddled endlessly with the bottom of her short sleeved cardigan, suddenly nervous. The feeling that not everyone wants to talk isnt helping much either. Then again this is the place for eating rather than talking...

Jami started to eat some more chicken, still painfully looking at the whole plate. She was starving!! She was suprised when Owen started speaking. This boy could comunicate with Aesis! No way! Jami looked between then two.

"Can you really understand him? Wish I could. Would make things a lot easier..." Jami looked at the girl who looked nervous. "Hi Alicia. Are you okay?" jami was always a talker.

He pulled his dictionary out of his satchel and gestured at it in response to the question about his inability to understand English.

"So...you speak Elf and others understand you...So they understand elf...Why are they pretending they don't understand me then?!" He frowned.

Perhaps it had to do with his race... He pondered for a moment, too frustrated to finish the half-eaten banana in his hand.us

His eyes flickered over Alicia as she seemed to be nervous or something. He didn't quite understand why, but Jami seemed to ask her before he did. He nodded to Jami. "Yeah, I can..." So apparently, this elf dude didn't know any English at all. He looked to the dictionary briefly before returning his eyes to Aesis.

"I don't speak elf. I'm talking English right now," he said, understanding that this might be a tricky concept to grasp. "Can assure you, they're not pretending," he chuckled, raising the burger to his mouth. "Everyone can understand me... it's my power," he explained with his mouth half full.

"i-i'm fine... just not used to new people" Alicia replied quiely. She smiled then made a confused look, not understanding what the elf was saying at all. She decided that she was finished with eating and got up from her seat "um i think i'll go now" waving goodbye to Owen and the others after their short lived meeting, then stridded out the door in a timely manner.

Jami watched the girl leave and waved good bye, a little sad this girl had left before they could get more acquainted. Jami had been a bit interested that the boy could understand Aesis but she didn't care much to look on it further. Jami looked between the to males at the table and suddenly felt a bit left out. "I think I am going to look for my room... I guess I will see you guys around?"

Owen's voice seemed incoherent, with him partly masticating during the whole conversation. Aesis raised an eyebrow. Owen apparently didn't have manners when talking, but, who was Aesis to talk, he ate bananas in the middle of conversations.

He glanced at the green haired girl who seemingly just exited. He'd wondered why he was there again, since it was the dining hall. Although, Aesis had an unlimited supply of bananas anyways, so there wasn't much use being here.

Aesis stared at Jami. Apparently she must be leaving too. He didn't know the other man, aside from the fact he could speak 'elf'. Or 'English'. That word was unfamiliar to Aesis other than it being another language.

He sighed, and took his leave, waving good-bye to Owen, just to be polite.
