Treasures to be Taken (Zin and Becca)

Zin was in a small version of his own heaven. He had been exploring different escape routes for pranks when he'd stumbled into the theater. It had been a delightful surprise to find the set of some human play still in tact, all of the props and backgrounds still set up. It was like the castle itself wanted some fresh entertainment- it had laid out prank tools for him like an act of god!

Like a little kid in a toy store, he darted and pranced from piece to piece, thrilled with his discovery. In moments, he had a mask on his face, rapier in one hand, a torch in another. In a basket, he had collected flowers and a small fake dagger, a vial of fake poison, and a rope ladder.

To be clear, he wasn't quite sure what he was going to do with these treasures, but he was absolutely convinced that they could play a purpose in a prank. An epic, beautiful, complicated prank that would be much grander than any production this theater had ever put on.
It wasn't stealing if he returned the items. He was merely borrowing them for a play of his own.

Becca had yet to visit the theater since arriving at the castle. It was something she considered to be unfortunate, and today she decided she'd remedy that. Before leaving her dorm, Becca had tied her hair into a loose side braid, and because the weather was bit warmer today, the yellow track jacket had been left in the dorm. She'd opted to remain close to her default in case she felt like playing today.

Becca entered the theater and made her way through the cushioned seats, all the way up to the stage. Rather than use the stairs on either side of the stage, she simply pulled herself up from where she'd reached it. Then she turned, hands on hips, to face the seating. For a moment she let herself imagine each and every seat in the theater being filled, as though there were currently a production being shown, costumed actors and actresses reciting the lines to a play. Actually she could picture a great deal of famous actors and actresses actually being doppelgangers. She was certain there was no one who'd be comfortable emulating various personality types. It was literally how they made not only a living, but an actual life.

Becca wanted to be an actress. She was certain of this now. It would be the ultimate opportunity for her to be anybody but Becky. Not up on stage though. Not Juliet or Ophelia. More like Lois Lane, or better yet, Cat Woman. She'd be in movies not plays.

Masks were a thing of interest to him, although it was a simple enough matter to alter his appearance with his glamour, especially with the weather as warm as it was. Still, there was something fun about slipping one of them on and parading around as he looted the props, only his black eyes showing against the black mask.

He almost skipped as he selected odd items and pieces to take with him. In the span of minutes, his hands were encumbered with treasures, and he feared he would have to make a second trip.
To his chest, he cradled a paper fan, one of the fake swords, a basket (full of fake flowers, of all things), and a torch that he dearly hoped actually worked. He'd slung the rope ladder over his shoulder after folding it up so it wouldn't drag on the floor. (What a find! A ladder would be so useful when it came time to explore the roof tops of the castle...)

The godfairy almost whistled a tune to himself at the find. It hadn't occurred to him to leave the treasures where he'd found them and merely take them as needed. The strong, initial urge to hoard it all away was too strong. He did not think to check if he was alone as he waltzed onto the stage, masked with his arms full of goodies. When he saw Becca, he froze, foot hovering in mid step.

Curses. Karma really didn't want him stealing, did it?

Becca turned on a whim to explore of the rest of the stage. She stopped upon spotting the boy. The mask made it impossible for her to identify him right away, but even so she wasn't surprised or outraged by what he seemed to be doing. Actually she smiled a rather mischievous smile.

"Starting a collection?" She had no idea what anyone would want with the the junk that seemed to be lying around here, but she found it funny to catch him in the act regardless.

It took him half a moment to remember where he'd met her before. When he realized it was the girl he'd met on the beach, who he'd been teaching to swim before things got so, well, morbid, his face split into a grin underneath the mask. She had been fun to play with, the kind of person who seemed willing to laugh every once and a while. He hadn't met too many of those people around the castle. Perhaps she would do pranks with him? Now that Esteban was locked up and Owen was...well...dead.

“I'm putting on a show,” he cackled, more energetic than he'd been even a few moments ago, bouncing slightly on his toes. “And I thought I might pick up some props here.” There could be no doubting the mischief or devious intention in his voice as he tilted his chin up in an almost smug fashion. Without being reprimanded a single time by an authority figure since he had arrived, Zin was getting bold in the pranks he was willing to pull. Lillegard hardly seemed to NOTICE that he tee-peed the hallways, loosened several picture frames so they hung upside down, even painted a classroom poka dotted and SIGNED his NAME. People here were a tough audience. But if he got a partner to help him out...then he could crank up the pranks...
