The fight continues

Leon arrived back at the cliff in hopes that Owen would still be there, and that Jami would follow. Multiple people were passed out from all the drinking that had gone on during the fireworks. Now no more fireworks were shooting.

Before doing anything else, Leon took a moment to look over the people that were still at the cliff, hoping that Od was no longer among them.

He stayed in the air above the cliff awaiting Jami's arrival.

Jami hovered above the cliff when she arrived. "Leon, I am suprised. First i have to tell you to stop acting like a kid, an now i have to tell you that running away shows you are a coward." Jami looked over the students passed out on the ground. Was owen amoung them?

Owen was making his way down the cliffside at that moment, rubbing his head sorely. It seemed he hadn't even noticed the beam in the distance nor realise that the two of them had returned to the scene.

After Jami had exited, he'd downed two bottles of beer in some attempt to forget what had happened. However, even then, he still didn't appear to be very drunk at all. His encounter with Ndale didn't help much with matters either - that cheetah creeped him out. He was far too close for his liking, not to mention he'd actually been licked by him. He'd never feel safe again walking through the academy halls.

Now abandoning the scene, Owen had the full intention of returning to bed, probably to sleep for a day or two. He was shattered, not to mention is was tiring remaining in his ruckarl form for a while. He scratched behind his head. He expected nothing.

Leon saw Owen walking away from the cliffs. His timing couldn't have been more perfect. Leon ignored the insults Jami was throwing at him. It didn't matter anymore. He knew what he wanted, and he knew how to get it.

"Owen!!" Leon called to him in the exact same way he called him when he was acting drunk. Now that he thought back to it he was probably still not completely sober when he had done that. If he was he wouldn't have bothered to do anything for Jami in the first place.

He didn't move from where he was flying. Only continued to call to Owen. He wouldn't be denied. He hated Owen. For whatever reason he hated everything about Owen. His awkwardness, his refusal to cooperate. He hated his name. He hated having to say his name. He hated Owen.

Th next thing Jami knew she heard Owen's name being called. What was leon doing? SHe inslts didn't seem to effect Leon. That made Jami a bit upset. She flew towards LEons voive. "What the hell are you doing" she asked in a comment like tone.

There was no denying it - Owen's head hurt. It hurt from the noise of the fireworks, it hurt from the lack of sleep, it hurt from the alcohol and it hurt from trying to understand why a wild african cheetah was hitting on him. It also hurt from hearing that jerk shouting obnoxiously into his ear. He'd never caught the boy's name, but he could remember his voice well. He could recall it so vividly it almost felt like he could hear it right now.

Owen blinked. He was hearing it now. Rubbing his eyes woozily, he looked up at the demon. "You? What're you..?" He almost thought it to be some sort of freakish hallucination, and he rubbed his eyes again. It wasn't. "Didn't you go back..?" When another voice joined the fray, he stared as he saw Jami there, baffled beyond belief. "What's going on?" he damanded, looking worriedly between the two.

Leon smiled. Now Owen was looking at them, he wouldn't so easliy lose interest. Now he could focus on Jami. This was the hard part. He didn't know enough about her to know just how to make her angry. He'd have to go off of what had happened at the fireworks, and what she'd let slip.

The energy at his hands was modable. He could form it into loose shapes. He didn't do it often, though, didn't see any point. Now he brought his together and made an attempt to turn into a house, a house that was on fire. It was a small representation of a village, specifically a village that Jami had said she'd destroyed. After letting it burn for about a minute, Leon allowed the little flame to go out, almost in a poof.

Leon wasn't sure if Jami would give the desired response. If not, he could always attack. Force her to get violent in front of her beloved Owen.

Jami saw Owen look at her. Oh no, Leon was getting him into this. Jami was about to tell Owen to run but something caught her eyes. A village vurning. Never faiding in her head. Falling to pieces. People crying, hurt, or dead. Angery faces. Jami didn't know what happened. One moment she was horrified the next she was gone. Her eyes glazed over in black, her body hung there montionless Her blank eyes stared at Leon, she gave him an erie and empty smile full of now sharpend teeth. Her usually pointed nails had become tallons. Her short grey hair turned black. And she was surrounded in fire.

For a second Jami faught back, she turned to owen her normal features glimpsing, "Knock me out!" She started crying in pain and was gone again to the monster her father had passed down upon her.

Owen tried to remain focused on Leon, but he couldn't stop his eyelids from drooping. The jerk wasn't addressing him anyway, and this frustrated him. Why was it always after he demanded his attention that he decided not to pay any more attention to him?

He was about to call him out on this when he started making a replica of burning buildings before him. At first, he didn't understand, but when he saw the expression on Jami's face, he knew immediately. He'd heard her talk of a dark side, but he didn't expect anything this far. He stepped backwards. "Uhh...!" Owen could only shake his head with disbelief as Jami begged him. "I..." Couldn't hit a girl, Owen? He backed up further. What could he do? They were too high up to reach, and he probably wouldn't be able to run away. He scowled. "Go away!" he yelled at Leon. "I haven't done nothing to you!"

Now Leon was satisfied. In retrospect, he was glad that she hadn't turned in the dorm room. It was so much more sweet to have her do it in front of Owen. After all, it was obvious she'd left the cliff for the exress purpose of avoiding that. Even better: now he knew how to get to her in case he ever needed to again. He was learning.

He didn't pay Owen any mind now. As far as he was concerned, Owen's role was over. All he wanted was for him to be a witness as Jami's dark form was unleashed. Now the ball was in her court. If she attacked, then he'd fight back. If not, then he'd do just as Owen asked, and leave. It was all up to Jami.

Though Jami was clearly not in her right state of mind and that was he loved most about the entire scenario.

Jami's form moved to fast, using the darkness to propel her. One thing Leon didn't think about would be that her powers fed of the the night. She moved as fast as light and ramed into Leon, attempting with this horrible force to knock him to the ground. Jami was till fighting back in her mind. One thing her father probably never did get te chance to fight when the darkness took him. But Jami knew she could from the last time. She was the one who tried to direct herself towards Owen on the ground. SHe hoped so he could get a clear shot and knock her out. But as soon as she made her wings disapear she lost control again.

The flaming claws scratched at Leons face, The monster screams at him in range. It to a glimpse at Owen, realising there was someone else here. It backed of the man on the ground and turned to look at Owen with it's erie smile. Jami mean while was searching to over come it.

Owen didn't like the way Leon was ignoring him, and it was almost strangely satisfying to see his friend tackle the arrogant brat. Yet at the same time, it was terrifying. Rooted to the spot, Owen's jaw dropped as he stared at Jami. No, this wasn't Jami, it was something else.

I'm next, he thought, gulping. Oh no... He was almost completely certain that he wouldn't be able to knock her out, not with the speed she was flying that. But it wasn't just the difficulty he was concerned with. Last time he tried to launch any sort of attack on someone, he'd accidently hit someone who was innocent. What if that happened this time? What if Jami - the real Jami - came back the moment he attacked?

He decided not to go in straight for the blow. Readying himself, he surged forwards towards her, his eyes focused, yet his steps rather wonky. He aimed to ram into her like a rampaging bull, planning to knock her to the floor and pin her down.

Leon hadn't expected her to come quite so quickly. He avoided the scratches to his face by dropping away from her, though. Then, he flew across in front of Owen. When he turned to face Jami again, he saw she was glaring at Owen.

This, he hadn't anticipated, though he didn't mind it either. It seemed Owen was intent on fighting her, for he own good. He'd regret it either way, right? Probably. And Jami too. How would she live with herself knowing she'd attcked the person she loved in her dark form? He decided he'd step aside. At the same time, though, he didn't want either of them to end up dead. Once again, it was overkill. This, however, he felt was appropriate. If it got too bad, then he'd reenter. Until then, he sat back.

Jami's form took a moment to see it's surroundings. The first boy had flown off after she had tried to swipe at him and the lizard was looking at her. Then it started charging towards her. The body stayed there interested at what this creature could do to her. The force of the dark magic radiating off her was quite strong. The thing controlling Jami though had never tried to see what would happen. It always attacked. As Owen got closer the she smiled again the large pointed smile. It side steped out of the way last minute.

Jami's true self was giving up. It was harder to fight back, and all she could do was sit and watch as this beast in her hazy attacked the boy she had feelings for. She never felt so helpless in her life.

"Get out the way!" Owen yelled at Leon when he saw that he was in the way. The demon eventually moved, but he did have a feeling that it wasn't because he told him to. He couldn't slow down anyway, not while he was charging at Jami.

As she neared closer, he reached his arms out, leaping forward with as much strength he could put into his legs. However, she quickly slipped out of reach, and he was sent hurtling towards the ground instead. The wind was knocked out of him as landed, and he was momentarily stunned. However, he picked himself up afterwards, adrenaline still pumping through his veins. Attempting to run towards her again, he threw out a fist towards her, raising his other arm in an attempt to defend himself from incoming attacks.

The monster after side stepping Owen, looked around for Leon. That was who this body didnt like anyway. It appeard he had flown off though. What the creature didn't expect was the Lizard getting back up. Nor was it exspecting to get hit. As it fell down some of its grip on Jami loosened. It couldnt move fast anymore and was afraid of getting pinned by the large creature. It had already taken a blow from his fist, but that had landed in Jami's stoumach. It let out a scratchy scream of frustration. It wanted to be free and the oy was in it's way.

The earsplitting scream sent Owen reeling backwards almost immediately after he'd punched. He was surprised that she didn't dodge it, but he almost wished thats he did. Attacking something that even looked remotely like her induced a sharp feeling of guilt within him, and he struggled to shake it off.

After recovering from the noise, he reached both of his arms out to grab the girl by her shoulders, hoping to force her to the ground. He was at least relieved he was in his ruckarl form - he knew he'd be even more useless as a human.

The creater's worst thoughts for the moment came true. She was pinned, Being detached from Jami's mind a little had weakened it's senses. the creature had a new annoyance for this lizard. The body the darkness wished to posses didn't want to hurt Owen. So because of that it made it harder to controll the bodies actions. It couldnt move. Its new fear was that once again it wouldn't have the chance to win. First with the blasted woman knocking it out. Now this boy was going to do it.

It stared into Owen's brown eyes with it's black empty ones. I gave him a large grimace with it's pointed teeth sticking out. Jami tired and weak push through one last time before she gave up, "Knock me out Owen. Please." Her stirling siliver and perriwinkle eyes where sad, and tired for those few seconds. then the glaring beast came back waiting for it to once again be banished back to the cold place in Jami's mind.

Leon didn't become involved again. It seemed the lizard was going to win after all. Knowing Owen didn't to actually hurt Jami, he felt safe allowing him to win.

It seemed Jami's dark form was having trouble against Owen, likely because she was still fighting for control. Leon took note of this. He wasn't sure he'd need the information again, but he stored it in his mind in case it ever came.

For the moment, he was satisfied. It had gone better than he'd hoped. So much so that maybe, just maybe, if neither Owen nor Jami spited him again, he may allow himself to forget about it. It wouldn't happen, though. Leon Barner never forgets, and forgives even less often.

Now he only stayed to watch the battle's conclusion.

Using both of his hands to keep Jami to the ground, he kneeled beside her, glaring into those eyes. He was surprised that his assault was successful, yet even in her vulnerable position, he was still reluctant to finish the job. Jami's true self kept showing through - what if he held her here long enough, she'd come back? It seemed unlikely though.

The seconds that he kept her held stretched like hours, and he struggled between the painstaking decisions of staying or physically harm her. He knew she wanted him to do the latter, but recently Owen had learned not to underestimate his own strength as a ruckarl. A simple 'knock out' could turn into something a lot worse if he wasn't careful enough.

Finally, he submitted. His eyes tightly shut - unable to keep them open to witness his own misdeeds - and he held his breath. Then he slammed his head down on top of Jami's, hoping that the headbutt would knock her out. Breathing heavily, he stood up again, giving Leon a stare, only just recalling that he was still present. "Y'see what you did?!" he yelled, pointing at Jami. "Y'see what you made me do?!" His gaze was filled with rage, and a snarl was let loose through gritted teeth. His fists were still clenched - apparently not quite through with violence.

Jami saw Owen's final desision in his face. She let the monster get forward as she hid. Hoping to avoid the attack. And she did. On Impact she blacked out. The creature slipped by her further into her mind and she grew bigger and took control. Now she would just have to wait for her magic to heal any damage and for it to wake up.

Leon listened to Owen as he began to get angrier. A smile began to play at the cornors of his mouth. It seemed Leon wasn't the only one who didn't think straight when he was angry. He kept his eyes Owen now, and lowered himself a bit. He hovered about five feet above the ground, within reach of the lizard if he chose to come at him. Leon was almost daring him to do so.

He was in his right state of mind now, though. If he wanted to he could just leave. He'd already gotten his revenge out of the two of them; he didn't need any more.

He analyzed his opponent now. Big ol' lizard. It was easy to tell that in a fight he'd rely on strngth more than anything else. Leon, with his wings, centered more around speed and agility. A close fight with Owen wouldn't be a good thing, and he wasn't entirely long-range either. He wasn't entirely confident he'd win in a fight against Owen.

Leon summoned a small bit of energy to his right hand, holding it between his index finger and thumb, but still didn't look away from Owen. Whatever move Owen makes, Leon would be ready. "I didn't actually think It'd be so easy to get her angry. She had it coming, anyway. I'm satisfied now, though," he smirked, "I've caused enough trouble."

Owen wasn't paticularly happy with the way Leon was almost smiling at him, and his angry stare only became more focused and annoyed. He let out a loud snort at his comment, knowing it was only a means of frustrating him further. And it worked, it seemed. He looked down at where Jami lay, the sting of guilt still fresh. This demon would have to go down.

He could've snapped back with some retort, but he wasn't in the mood for any lip or threat today - he just wanted this boy out of his face. Charging straight at him didn't seem ideal though, not when he would just fly out of reach. He'd need to find a way to bring him down. Without removing his gaze, he bent down to pick a few stones from the ground, tossing them slightly in his hand to test their weight. Finally, aiming at the boy, he threw them simultaneously has hard as could. His accuracy was slightly questionable, blinded by sheer rage, but there was no denying that those bullet-like stones would leave a nasty mark if they hit.

Leon's face changed to one of frustration as he watched Owen pick up the rocks. Tanner, his father often threw rock at him when he caught him flying too low above the forest. He was quite used to it, though at this instant he was too close to the ground to do anything effective. Being stationary didn't help much either, since he couldn't even turn in the air so easily.

Leon pulled his wings in close, allowing himself to drop to the ground. Then he turned sideways so his wings wouldn't make as large a target. He reached up to catch one of the stones. It hurt on impact with his hand, but it was nothing that would heal. The second stone grazed the outside of his right wing, thankfully not the one with the gold-scar. If he'd stayed airborne it likely would have hit him directly in the gut.

Rock in hand, Leon turned back to face Owen directly then, taking a step back, flew back into the air. This time he flew a solid fifteen feet off the ground. He summoned more energy to his hand, using it to envelop the stone. Then he spun in the air, using the momentum gain to throw the rack back at Owen as hard as he could. It left a dark flame-like tail as flew through the air, hurtling directly for Owen.

The fact that Leon didn't remain still and take his assult head-on annoyed him, not to mention that his throws would've hit directly if he hadn't moved. Of course, just about anything annoyed Owen at this point, and his mood only seemed to worsen upon seeing his projectile captured like a game of catch.

From the distance, he couldn't tell exactly what Leon was doing with the stone. What he did see was the stone heading back towards him at a dangerous speed. Knowing he wouldn't be able to move out of the way in time, he shut his eyes, raising his arms to defend himself from the impact. The pain shot through the back of his wrists, the flames singing a black, ashy line down his arms. Despite this, adrenaline still flowed through him, helping to nullify the aching feeling in his arms.

His reaction was almost immediate, lowering his arms again, he let out a roar at Leon - a reptillian, almost bloodthirsty roar, with few traces of humanity within. His tail lashed angrily as he assesed the situation - Leon was still an unreachable height, so he'd have to resort to the same old tactic again. He gathered the stones again, holding them in the crook in the arm so he would have a supply. He started to throw them at Leon again. Aiming was more difficult due to the distance, however, and his tactics seemed a little desperate - he hardly knew how else to strike someone he could not reach.
