(( This is the questioning of the Intruder, caught by Owen, Lizze and Zula. Kale has taken him to the dungeons. The Deans and a few professors were invited to witness and question. We encourage you to read the thread to gain info on the plot line behind AALC, but no students are allowed to actually post here. Thank you~ ))

Kale kicked open the door. The room was dark and smelled of dampness. The cold lingered and the harpy's leeching anger didn't help. With the low light, the owl's eye was able to generally discern that there was no furniture in the room and that the shackles on the wall were hanging limp, whittled away with rust and corrosion. She did a quick scan: no signs of movement.

Roughly, Kale dragged her current victim in behind her to the far side of the room, away from the door. She dropped him kindlessly to the floor, the man was cut, burnt, and bleeding. He was unable to walk, the harpy having severed his Achilles tendon's already, but she would take no chances. She slammed down one of her feet on the intruder's chest, sharp talons puncturing the man's skin slightly, threatening to hook around his rib-cage and shred him should he attempt to so much as breath too deeply. The harpy's wings were out tensely as she stood over him, reverting back to her native tongue she breathed out a sharp hiss that echoed through the empty dungeons. The harpy's language had no words, they were all sounds and gestures, based off body language, to show moods and thoughts for communication. This was unmistakably hostile behavior.

An intruder to the island was not in her plans.

Post  `NPC Thu Aug 18, 2011 6:06 pm

The intruder cried out as the harpy pressed her talons into his skin. But it was only one more pain on top of the many that he had suffered recently. He grimaced, bearing his teeth against the pressure. She was a frightening sight, hovering above him with her wings expanded. When she hissed, the tone was so feral and aggressive that the sandy-haired man half expected her to bend down and tear her head off with her own teeth. There was no more doubt in his mind why he had been warned against her, and he was already starting to question his loyalty to those that sent him. But looking up into the angry black eyes of the harpy woman above him, he knew that he was dead no matter what he said. Might as well go down with a fight.

With the energy he had left, the intruder grinned with half of his mouth, though it looked more like he was bearing his teeth against the pain, which he supposed that he was a little bit. "You're a monster," he spat through his teeth. "And I still won't tell you anything."

Post  Everly Thu Aug 18, 2011 6:16 pm

The headmistress rushed down the steps to the castle's basement as soon as she felt the presence of the harpy professor there. And there was someone else... an energy that was new and hostile. Everly bit her lip. If that woman had brought the intruder here without coming to tell her first... But that thought ended. She wasn't sure what she would do precisely.

The basement was cold and damp, and only felt darker due to the deeper shade of stone brick that made up its walls. Everly shivered as she got closer to the cell and slowed her pace down to a slow walk. She didn't know what was happening, but something was frightening about the energy that was coming from the closed room. Turning the corner, the headmistress was just in time to see the harpy woman in a way that she had never seen her before. She was standing over a man, the tips of her talon drawing blood from his skin. The woman's whole body was sending a message that made Everly want to run, but she couldn't. Her eyes shifted down to the man pinned on the floor and Everly gasped when she saw him. His face was bloody and bruised. The headmistress knew that he was an intruder, and his intentions were probably not well-meaning, but seeing anyone in such a position drew on her sympathy.

"What are you doing?" She shouted at the harpy. "We don't want to kill him!"

Post  Kale Thu Aug 18, 2011 7:32 pm

Kale sneered at the man below her.

"Flattery will get you nowhere, Monsieur." Her expression grew a little more guarded. He spoke as if he knew her. Of course, he could have based his statement of her on the way she had treated him thus far, but he was an intruder, what did he expect? Tea and crumpets? Still, if he did know her, or of her, he could be problematic. Kale was debating on this as she heard the delicate footsteps she had come to associate with Everly descend the stairs. She was thinking on killing the man outright as the Headmistress turned the corner. Deciding that no, she needed to know why he was here in the first place, Kale made a small noise of irritated frustration. The harpy, having disregarded Everly's exclamation of horror, slowly straightened her upper half from it's forward looming position and turned to the woman at the door, expression schooled into a blank mask of indifference.

"Opinions, Headmistress." Kale said simply. She had, after all, already debated killing the man and there really wasn't a doubt that she wanted to. However, she would not, not yet.

The harpy glared levelly at Everly. She made no move to release the pressure on the man's crest and no sign that she was about to ease her rigid and threatening stance. To Everly, she was displaying a right out hostile mistrust. It was clear the harpy was practically daring the Headmistress to take the man from her using force, because she would not be getting him from her any other way.

Post  Blake Eston Sat Aug 20, 2011 5:16 pm

Blake walked down the stairway of the castle as he nears his destination where the intruder was being held. Seemed that he was called here for his special abilities from the time he had spent in the field and in a sense he felt very honored that he was to be so trusted. Nearing the door he could already feel the cold temperatures of the abandoned cells and it sent a grin onto his face. He enjoyed these kinds of places and for some reason he called them home. Torturing and stalking people was oh so fun to him and it he could kill on then that would only just complete his day.

Walking to the door still with a grin on his face, he pushed it open and made his way into the room where Kale and Everly along with the intruder were waiting. Smiling over at the man Blake looked down at the bag to his side and pulled it off so he could drop it to the ground next to him. He turned to Everly and nodded, "Hello ma'am, seems like I got here in time for a little fun. What all are we able to do and not do? I wouldn't want to go against anything you may not find suitable for the current situation." He hoped that she would say no rules other than not killing him, because then Blake would just go to town with torture as he was sure Kale was hoping for. He knelt down and opened his bag pulling out a cloth and a 2 liter bottle of water. Deep down in his bag he had many other things, but a little bit of drowning was something he even hated to face. So why not this man as well?

Post  Everly Sun Aug 21, 2011 9:07 am

Everly looked back and forth between the intruder and the harpy, debating on who's side to take. There was something pleading in the man's eyes, making him appear almost innocent. But, the headmistress knew that the situation was otherwise, and she shouldn't let her sympathies get in the way. She didn't know why he was here, but he had somehow gotten himself past the barriers that kept this island safe from discovery. It was not always a kind world for inhuman creatures, and this island was one of the only safe places. There was no question about it. They had to know how he got here and what exactly had brought him. It couldn't have been easy, and Everly guessed that the man's intentions were not beneficial.

The headmistress turned her head towards the offense/defense professor as he came into the room. Her eyes watched his bag fall to the ground and couldn't help but wonder what he had in mind for the questioning. She didn't know the man well, except for the rather colorful past that she had read on paper. He would be beneficial in this situation, no doubt, though Everly didn't know how far he would go or if he could be restrained if necessary.

Even though she had made her decision, the headmistress still hesitated before giving her consent. She knew that it would instantly make her just as guilty for whatever harm they brought to the man under her name, the island's name. She swallowed before she spoke, and her voice was clear and strong. "Find out anything you can," she said. She then folded her hands behind her back and turned to the harpy, giving a firm nod that indicated the headmistress' blessing, not that the harpy would have needed it to continue. Then she stood against the wall, wanting to watch but stay out of the actual dirty process. She turned her head briefly towards the door, hoping that Od would be making his appearance soon.

Post  Kale Tue Aug 23, 2011 9:12 pm

Kale stared down the Headmistress, remaining like a statue, await to see the signs of resignation. When Blake entered the room, her head snapped around to pin him with an accusing glare. It didn't lift even as he went about preparing to take his turn on the intruder. She sneered in disgust.

At the Headmistress's approval, Kale flicked her eye to her and nodded in return, thanks of a sort for giving the okay for what sh herself thought whatever necessary. As Everly leaned back against the wall, content to stay out of it for the most part, the harpy returned her gaze to Blake. With a ruffle of feathers, Kale dropped her left wing between herself and the Offense/Defense Professor, trying to block the injured man beneath her from the one at the door.

"My, how presumptuous of you, sir." She hissed and eyed the cloth and water. "You have not been invited to try your hand at this. Neigh, not even your opinion has been sought after as of yet." Her strong voice echoed off the stone walls, each word she stated clearly returning again as if to emphasize itself. She pulled her shoulders back and righted her torso, lifting her chin to seemingly look down on the taller man. Though, she made herself think about this clearly.

On one hand, she was sure she would be able to make this man spill with little effort or folly. However, letting this Professor try, she would be able to observe the information revealed and not be pinned with hate later by Everly for her methods. And, if she needed to know something in particular, she could always have her turn later. Although she despised the idea, letting this man take over may be wise. Kale looked down to the intruder, displeased.

"Very well. Despite your lack of etiquette, it might be worth something if I allow this." She shot a harsh glare at Black quickly and lifted her wing. "Although, that yet remains to be seen and so is currently doubted. Though, if you kill him, I will kill you." Kale hissed coldly and removed her talons roughly from the intruder's chest as she backed off him, moving to stand with arms crossed in the corner, she was completely still and silent, owl eye stalking both the men like a predator, obviously unhappy with this turn of events.

Post  `NPC Wed Aug 24, 2011 9:51 am

The intruder looked back and forth between the three that were now in the room with him. He recognized the other woman from her description, and had hoped that she would perhaps be the one to end his pain, but he was let down. Her nod of approval to Kale only sealed his fate more securely, and it didn't look like this white-haired man would be much more help. He waited, unspeaking as they went through the discussion of what to do with him. As the harpy gave her consent for the man to continue, the intruder sighed in relief. He knew about her. He knew that her methods would be long and grueling. But this man, well the intruder could at least hope for mercy in the unknown.

When the harpy lifted her talon off him, the intruder struggled to get up. He could not make his legs work, but he was able to pull himself backwards with his arms, propping himself up against the wall. But it was all a fruitless waste of energy. There were no windows, and his interrogators were between himself and the only exit. Not that he would have been able to make it with his broken achilles tendon, which still ached.

He narrowed his eyes at the white-haired man. Almost daring him to come closer. The intruder's eyes flickered between the man and his materials, but the intruder attempted to show no fear. Not yet.

Post  Odqura Wed Aug 24, 2011 5:39 pm

Odqura was not keen on torture. He understood when it was necessary, of course, and held no qualms with the benefits of such methods, but he for one would not be in line with the other two more violent professors to be delivering any harm first-hand.

It was with a very schooled and sober expression, rarer on his features, that he slipped quietly into place beside Everly without announcing his arrival. He was sure the others would have noticed him enter without him needing to draw attention. His black messenger bag was slung over one shoulder and a he lowered a passively disapproving gaze upon the intruder. As standing physician, Od would be offering his assistance.

Addressing both Blake and Kale without removing his gaze from this stranger, he kept his voice low and quiet in the heavy foredoomed atmosphere of the dungeon. "Please allow me to tend his wounds as you progress. He mustn't be allowed to decease before we have learned what is needed." His tone addressed the situation as if it were a commonplace business interaction.

Post  Blake Eston Fri Aug 26, 2011 4:51 pm

Blake listened to Kale and Everly in their words warning him to not kill the man, he nodded. He had no intention of doing such a thing unless it was ordered by the headmistress to do so and this was a word that he was to keep. Blake smiled at the man as he seemed to have propped himself up as if an attempt to keep what dignity he may have had. How can a man think of himself as someone who can get away with such things and the fact that he didn't seemed trained in the matter just made Blake laugh quietly to himself. The look of the man through the strands of his hair showed nothing, but determination of remaining quiet, but that wouldn't last long, as Blake knew more people were coming.

As that thought entered his mind, he turned to see professor, Od enter the room and he nodded in accordance to his statement of offering aid so the man would not perish. "I think that sounds alright to me. No matter how long this takes we can continuously torture him then heal him, then torture , heal, torture, heal....again and again." He turned and grinned at the man before finally walking over to him dragging his bag just so it was in his own reach and no others. He crouched down to the man's height and smiled as he cleared his throat. "Now now, if you just tell us, then this whole thing can be over quite quickly as I am sure that our headmistress would not like the spread of blood for unnecessary reasons. Just tell us how you got here, why your are here, and what was it that you seemed to be looking for. Once that's done i'm sure we can talk on.....say lighter terms." Turning to his bag then back to him again, "If not, then we will have no use than to force ever word out of you." Blake waited for the man to answer before he would return to his bag to pull out the different sorts of chemicals and tools he had brought along.

!Questioning the Intruder ((Invitation Only)) Empty Re: !Questioning the Intruder ((Invitation Only))

Post  Rendaz "Flammy" Fri Aug 26, 2011 7:38 pm

The furniture scraped across the floor as it was dragged, leaving behind a thin trail where it had scratched the surface of the floor. It was at this point he regretted not adding wheels to it, but it was too late to change his mind now. He was in a rush, and for a good reason too.

As soon as Everly had announced the presence of an intruder, he immediately looked forward to his captural. After all, any prisoner would need interrogating, and Rendaz saw himself with a lot of experience in that field of expertise. It seemed not too long ago that he'd found himself at the edge of the interrogator's blade. Although he himself had not executed it, he'd experienced more than enough of her cruel techniques, and was more than ready to put them in practise for himself.

The chair he was currently dragging would play a key part in this scheme. Stolen from a nearby sitting room, he'd stripped it of all of its pillows and cushions, instead replacing them to suit his tastes. On the arms and legs of the chair were leather straps designed to tightly keep the limbs in place. There was a metallic headrest with another leather strap to be tied around the forehead. A lamp stood hunched at the tip of the seet, designed to sear a bright light directly into the eyes of its victim. He'd also adjusted the balance so that the back was reclined at a 45 degree angle. In a way, it was almost like a chair from a dentist's horror movie, the gnarled, old fashioned look helping to complete its appearance.

Of course, the chair wasn't the only thing he'd brought along. He was wearing a belt, lined with many contraptions that seemed to jangle almost whimsically like keys with every step. Daggers, ladles, needles, drills and hooks dangled from his sides. He didn't plan on using all of them - he'd need to assess the situation before he would make his choice. His boa was absent for this occaision - he could not be certain of his ability to endure the memories while he possesed it.

Finally arriving at his destination, he scrunched his nostril at the smell before entering. It was a lot more crowded than he initially expected, and he paused, glancing around to recognise all of the faces, excluding one. "You honestly didn't think of starting without me, did ya?" he sneered, shoving the chair forwards to emphasise its presence. He couldn't tell whether the intruder's injuries had been inflicted on the spot, or whether he already had him, but either way, he didn't seem exactly pleased about it. "We'll not have any dirty business. Just get 'im on the chair then we can start." He grinned, but it didn't seem to be out of pleasure. The thought of interrogating someone else felt bizarre to him, but he wasn't about to let the others know that.

Post  `NPC Sat Aug 27, 2011 10:18 am

The sandy-haired man's blue eyes stared defiantly at the white-haired man as he spoke. He couldn't deny that there was a part of him that wanted to give everything up, accept a quick death rather than the slow, painful one that he was on the road to now. His gaze shifted for a moment up to the harpy woman. This was all her fault, he thought to himself. Yes, perhaps he should give it all up. He smiled slightly at the thought that they didn't even realize what they were asking for.

He may change his mind later, but for now he wouldn't tell them a thing. He hardened his expression, trying not to show his emotions. But when the orange man came, the intruder couldn't help but eye the chair that he dragged along behind him. He wasn't sure exactly what it would do, but he was sure that it was intended for him. Still, he wouldn't let it shake him. The information he had was too important to keep.

He turned back to Blake, aiming a well-formed wad of spit at the man's face.

Post  Odqura Sun Aug 28, 2011 11:36 am

Rendaz's entrance drew Od's attention and he eyed the chair in tow with curiosity. Normally he would feel inclined to greet the new dean perhaps suggestively just to be a jerk, but the situation wasn't at all particular to that sort of playful attitude. So he greeted Rendaz respectfully with a silent nod of his head, as he would address anyone.

A quietly resigned sigh left him a hand settled subconsciously on the top of his messenger bag. In his head he ran through the medical supplies he had chosen to bring along, assuring himself he should have everything they could need.

(( Don't worry about Od's turn for posting, I'm just going to let you guys run with it since he isn't actively interrogating, and I'll pop in whenever there is significant damage to stitch up or something~ ;3 ))

Post  Blake Eston Mon Aug 29, 2011 11:41 am

Blake watched the expression on the young mans face as he watched the chair that Rendaz managed to drag in. Blake was quite impressed with the design and arch of the chair himself and he silently applauded him in his mind. Looking back to the man Blake was hoping that the man would just give in and let them have the information that they needed. That way he wouldn't have to suffer more than needed, but with a spit in his face Blake only knew that this was going to be a long night.

Smiling Blake stood strait as he just looked down at the man with a grin on his face. He just nodded and pulled out a pocket knife, "Ah you spit in my face huh? I know where i'm going to start on you now....." He walked away with his bag in hand and approached Rendaz, "Seems you have crafted a fine chair just for this event huh? Well shall we put it to some use?" He said still smiling with anticipation hoping that they all could get started on this man. From time to time he looked over at Everly and Od, but knew that they wouldn't get involved until it seemed quite extreme. He was okay with this and just decided to not think of them till they came in to either help or stop the situation.

Looking over his shoulder he wondered what Kale would be doing during this, and then he looked at Rendaz and wondered the same with him. Oh how today was going to be fun.

Pai remembered he had to go to the dungeon..but for what? Perhaps detention. 'If it was that geary-eyed person, I would laugh, and give ...that genderless fellow more detention.' Pai thought, then hesitated and chuckled. "Perchance I should get something to entertain myself."

A few minutes later, Pai entered through, holding a cake on a platter in his hand, to taunt any students in detention.

He stared blankly at the six figures before him. "Uh...am I interrupting something..?"

He slowly brought a piece of the cake to his mouth, and dramatically chewed.

Post  Rendaz "Flammy" Fri Sep 02, 2011 7:56 pm

Rendaz's gaze narrowed on the intruder, not bothering to spare a brief response to Od. Even seeing the well-aimed glob of spit in Blake's face, he couldn't even bring himself to smirk. He proceeded to drag the chair towards them, setting it down by the wall. "Shut up," he snapped at Blake. Old habits seemed to die hard - Blake was still as needlessly talkative as ever. Why was he so cheery? They weren't here for tea and biscuits. If the offense teacher wasn't going to take this seriously, then he would.

Appropiately, he glanced up to see Pai enter the room, with rather unfitting instruments for what they should've been doing in here. He groaned inaudibly, baring his teeth in obvious distaste, and not just of his baking. "Yes you are," he sneered. He wasn't in the paticular mood for witty comebacks today, and he quickly turned his attention back to the intruder.

Grabbing the arm of the intruder, he forcefully tugged him onto the chair directly next to them, and immediately began strapping the man's wrist onto one arm of the chair, before working on the other. Tightening the straps far more than necessarily, he began to work on strapping both of his legs to the chair with much of the same ritual. As he moved to fix the head in place, he seemed to hesitate slightly, peering up and down at his face. Shaking his head, he roughly continued, not giving out so much as a flicker of emotion through his expression. The head straps would hopefully stop him from facing any direction other than forward.

Finally switching on the overhead light, he adjusted the arm of the contraption so that it would glare directly at the intruder's face. He looked back at the others coldly. He didn't say a word as he flicked his tail to gesture towards his victim, signalling that they were finally ready to begin.

Post  `NPC Sat Sep 03, 2011 3:32 pm

The intruder straightened his face, trying to show neither pain nor fear as the white-haired man pulled out the pocket knife. Whatever it was for, he didn't seem to be planning on using it quite yet.

At the pink-haired man, the intruder simply raised his eyebrows. "Who is this guy, the comic relief?" he said, and started to laugh. Even though, to be honest, he was kind of hungry. Damn. He hadn't noticed that before.

But his laughter was rudely interrupted by the lizard-man that pulled him roughly from the ground. The intruder grimaced as his injured leg dragged across the floor, causing the intense pain to renew itself, searing through his calf and up his hamstring. He tried to struggle as he was forcibly strapped to the chair, but was too weak to win. He could feel the strap edges digging into his skin. At first, he tried to struggle against them, tightening his forearms and pulling against the leather. But all that did was make the straps dig deeper, pinching into his skin.

It was the head-strap though, that finally made the intruder start to give into the real panic. There was something about not being able to look away from your interrogators that made his breathing quicken. Tell-tale beads of sweat manifested on his forehead as the intruder forgot all about his hunger.

Post  Blake Eston Sun Sep 04, 2011 11:03 am

Blake couldn't help but give Rendaz an awkward stare. He says just two sentences and the man attacks him, but Blake just shrugged and grinned. At least he was a social person other than what Rendaz seemed to be, a silent lone wolf in many a case. His attention was brought back to a voice of a new person behind him and when he turned to see the man he kinda felt the way the intruder had when it came to a what the hell moment. Staring at the cake though Blake just smiled and shrugged. "Hmm well I don't think cake is a great way to interrogate people....unless the man is starving, but none the less." he said while he on occasionally looked at Rendaz over his shoulder.

Turning back to his bag of good he shuffled through them, as if to make yet another check list but still withdrew nothing from it. Finally after Rendaz was done strapping the man down, Blake could see the fear and panic in the mans face. Blake loved that look on a person it was just so interesting to him and the fact that the man could do nothing about it only made Blake that much more happier. Walking over with just the knife he had placed back in his pocket, he observed the straps and the angle of how the chair was fixed. Smiling only slightly he looked over and around to see who would perhaps take a first hit at messing with this man.

!Questioning the Intruder ((Invitation Only)) Empty Re: !Questioning the Intruder ((Invitation Only))

Post  Rendaz "Flammy" Thu Sep 08, 2011 10:51 am

Even when doom approached him, the man could still try to crack a joke to raise his spirits. Rendaz admired him in that way - it wasn't something he saw often, the ability to brush aside your pain and worries. However, his hard expression didn't falter once as he tied the man down - there were more important matters at hand.

The panicked look on him almost, and uncharacterisingly caught his pity. Was this man really so dangerous? He'd expected a real threat, which was why he had went to such lengths to create this chair - but all he'd seen so far was an ordinary man put under unrealistic pressure. Sure, he'd managed to enter the island, but so did an old man with a boat that was falling apart. The difference was not quite so significant to him. And that look - filled with fear, unable to predict that they were about to inflict on him - in a way, it reminded him of himself.

A sharp look was given as Blake approached, but the man did not seem to act. Did he expect him to start? While before he was looking forward to this interrogation, he only felt reluctance now. However, he managed to assure himself that he would do a better job than the offense/defense teacher - he didn't appear to be taking the situation seriously at all.

He stood by the side of the chair, peeing down at the man, avoiding contact with his face. He was well aware of the presence of others in the room, would they be judging him? He could almost feel their eyes burning him, but he coolly tried to ignore it, bringing out a thick, rusty nail from the package on his belt. He held it hovered above the back of the man's hand, his grasp tight and sturdy. Finally, he brought himself to look the man directly in the eye. "You're going to tell me exactly how you got here and what you're here for," he spat, his tone remaining cold and sharp. "If you lie or say nothing, I'll drive this nail into your hand. And I assure you, I have more than one nail."

The unflinching expression on the lizard-man's face was unnerving. If anyone in the room meant business, it was this creature, only inches from the intruder's face. But there was nothing that the sandy-haired man could do about it. His abilities had been revoked as soon as the harpy had cut his tendon. Without his speed, without his ability to jump and dodge, he had nothing. He lacked both strength and magic, the only two things that could possibly release him from these bindings. But, perhaps there was something else.

Again, he tried to pull his arm away from the threat of the rusty nail hovering above his hand. And again, the leather pressed against him, keeping his arm where it was. He felt as if he could already feel the pierce of it, though he knew that it was only a dull memory of what would come. The thrill of anticipation. At this thought, a smile cracked the intruder's lips. It was as much of a joke as he could come up with at the moment.

"I am here," he started. "With a purpose you could not even begin to understand." Dirt and sweat caked the man's face in streaks. And saliva, that he no longer took the energy to control, spat out with his forceful words. "A purpose which," he continued, his mouth tensing around each word as if he were struggling to say them with the proper amount of fury. "Had nothing to do with you, sir, until you got in my way." He narrowed his eyes at his interrogator, determination reflecting in his irises. "I will tell you nothing."

The smile that began to appear on the man's face was suspicious, to say the least. Why was he smiling? He'd just threatened the mutilate his hand, and Rendaz saw nothing paticularly humourous about it. But again, he couldn't bring himself to feel angry at him. The ability to hold onto one's dignity during such circumstances was respectable of any man, even his enemies.

His hand trembled slightly as the man spoke, but his red gaze was nothing but hard and narrowed. Of course, the man wasn't going to tell him anything. That was expected. He hadn't even started yet. Even so, there seemed to be slight hesitation in Rendaz, something of a 'will he, won't he?' moment. His grip tightened. He would not falter, especially not under the expectant gaze of others.

He thrust the nail down onto the man's hand. It split the skin like paper. The crunch of bones sounded. Droplets of red on both their hands. The nail hardly made it down halfway. An animalistic hiss escaped from the ruckarl's throat, and he slammed down on the nail, forcing it down further, until only a tiny metallic stub remained visible. During those moments, all outside noise seemed to filter out, and Rendaz remained completely focused on his task.

Satisfied, he pulled his red hands away from the nail, before returning his gaze to the man, emotionless red eyes peering to see if he was ready to talk. Smoke puffed from his nostrils, enveloping his face his a hazy grey gas. "You're going to tell me how you got here and what you're here for," he repeated, his voice sounding rough, and his tone flat. Another nail was pulled from his pack on his side. Slowly, he strode over to the other side of the chair, eyes remaining in contact with the man's at all times. The nail was placed over the man's other hand. Sensitive areas were usually the most effective.

It was more pain than he could have imagined. It always was, wasn't it? And as much as he had wanted to, as much as he tried to hold in any kind of reaction, he couldn't prevent the gnarled grunt that pushed its way from his throat. The man felt his abdominals tighten, willing his body to wrench forward, to double over in pain, but he was held back by the strap across his forehead, cutting into his now sweat-stricken skin. He tried to clench his fingers, but felt the pull of his wounded skin against the nail that now pinned his hand to the chair. Involuntary tears streamed down his cheeks, and his eyes looked up towards the musty ceiling.

And then he closed them, breathing deeply as he attempted to pull himself back, relaxing his muscles, pushing back the nausea that now churned in his stomach. And when he opened them again, he stared with dulled eyes into the face of the man who had caused him so much pain. Pain that he had no desire to repeat.

Swallowing against his own dry tongue, he spoke. His voice was, after all, his final weapon. "You have the wrong guy," he said slyly, his voice cracking. "I could have come and gone from this island without you even noticing it. I only came... to reclaim something that was already mine." His eyes then left the face of his interrogator, landing instead on the group of people gathered behind, but not focusing on any one.

Post  Rendaz "Flammy" Wed Sep 14, 2011 8:13 pm

Rendaz didn't allow the restrained grunts of pain from the man to dissuade him from his task. As he stared emotionlessly down at the man now, he could see the wet streaks running down his cheeks. Despite what his cold expression would've suggested, a lingering respect for the man still remained - he was surprised that he hadn't broken down into a blubbering wreck by now.

But this was something that concerned him - Rendaz could almost feel himself stripping away the man's dignity, and this was cruel and inhumane, even by his own standards. It seemed only a few days ago now that he himself had been tied to an interrogator's chair, enduring his beatings and lashings. It was a pitious period of his life - he was ashamed to say that he'd even experienced it. But it also gave him reasons to doubt that this interrogation would go exactly as planned.

He knew that these methods were unreliable - the intruder could tell as many lies as he wanted and none of them would be able to prove him wrong. He would only have to endure as long as the interrogation lasted, and it wouldn't be able to last forever. It was a slow, delicate process, much like chipping away at an ice block. Chip the right places then you'll find what you're looking for. Go too far and the structure would collapse completely. A balance had to be mantained.

His eyes left the interrogator briefly to follow his gaze towards the others. He took the motion as a hint, and his expression seemed almost mistrusting. However, his attention was quickly returned to the man. A low growl trembled from his throat. "Do you think an answer like that.. satisfies me?" he sneered, removing his hovering hand from the intruder's. It would be useless striking there again - if he endured it the first time, he would endure it again. The point of the nail trailed softly against the man's skin as he traced it against his arm - leaving no mark. Eventually, it travelled up towards his face. "There's no use stepping around it, boy. You tell me what this 'something' is, what it does, and why you want it." The nail was prodded against the man's cheek, directly beneath his eye. "It's just you and the nail now."

Pai raised an eyebrow at the comic relief comment, but went back to eating.

'Might as well finish it before this guy tries to knock it out of my hands or so,' he thought.

Distracted by the cake, Pai noticed some inaudible dialogue coming from the strange man and Rendaz.
Pai, placed a chunk of cake atop his fork, and engulfed the last piece. He then set down the plate and fork in a dark corner, then turned to Rendaz, blinking.

He pointed blankly at the nail. "...why are you doing that..." His eyes widened wondering if this was some torture room. If so, he didn't have much desire being there.

He glanced at the abandoned metal fork in the corner, wondering if it'd be effective in using against the strawberry-blonde haired man. It would do well for painful stabs, and would fit in with the current situation.

"Too grotesque though.." He mumbled to himself aloud, glancing about.

Blake had watched as Rendaz questioned the man and he decided that he would sit back and let him have his fun on this. The reaction from the man in the chair made Blake look at him more carefully. He was hoping that they could get more information from this man than he may have been willing to give. Though the fact that he had said something, dind't mean that he was doing to be telling allt he truth. Blake continued to watch and only for a moment had a scent caught him off guard.

Looking over at the professor who finished the last piece of pie, Blake licked his lips before shaking his head and turning his attention back to the scene. He was hungry and all this hadness here was just making his stomache cry out for more. Why torturing a person made him want more food? He had not even known this his self, all he knew was that he would find a lot of food afterwards.

Watching the nail close to the mans eyes, falling just under he felt a twitch in his own cheek, as the thought of it tearing through the flesh and bone would just be quite painful. Yes through the hand was quite something but through the face where it all was so close together? Ah good ol torture......

Finally stepping forward with a bottle of lemon juice he smiled. "Ah that hurts huh? Yes he can begin the pain but I can prolong it." Popping the cork off he slowly tipped the bottle and watched as a small stream of lemon juice fall onto the mans open would where the nail sat. He awaited the mans reaction. "This should make it rust quite quickly as well...."

He loved the idea of rust and sharp pains running up the mans blood stream till it could his something important. Now if only the man would just hurry up and tell them.
