It's been a long night

The walk back to the dorm was longer than he would've liked. For a start, they'd have to trawl down three sets of staircases, before making their way outside to the dorm room buildings and then finally entering Dobhran. He felt awkward walking Jami back to her dorm - she didn't seem to need much assistence. Regardless, they'd be heading the same direction anyway, so it didn't matter much anyway.

Owen was too tired to talk for most of the journey, however. So much had happened in that one night, and it still felt almost like a dream. He turned to Jami expectantly for her to lead the way to her room. "You sure you okay? 'Cuz if you're not..." He paused to yawn. "Then I can, uhh, stay with you a lil' longer..."

The walk had been long and tiring. Jami still felt a bit weak but she thought she was going to be alright. She thought back on what had happened that night. First her powers had gone haywire and made her have a concussion. Owen turned up and Alicia had helped keep her awake. After that there were girls fighting. Then inside the cave there was the dead guy that liked Owen and then the rat... Did Owen still have it? Then things went wrong when yuuki had her issues.

Jami then thought of hurting her friend. She felt sick and her skin started turning pale again. she had broken her promise. One she had believed in so much it really could affect her physical condition. "Um, I don't.. I think I can...." She was a bit light headed but maybe she could make it to her room.

When he looked at Jami, Owen saw that she didn't appear to look to well, and he frowned in genuine concern. He held out an arm, unsure about touching her at first, before attempting to hold her gently by the shoulder. "Can find somewhere to sit if you're not feelin' well.." He tried to guide her down the corridor, frowning. He really didn't blame her after what had happened, but right now, he wanted nothing more than to lie on a bed and sleep for a day or two.

With Owen's help they started down the hall. "M rooms
's here." Jami pointed the the one on the right. "You can come a rest here for a bit if you like. I don't think Amunet is back yet, she is probably asleep in the cave..."

Jami opened her door ,"Come on in." and went straight to her bed. She ploped down face first onto its comfortableness. (is that a word...) There was a clatter and she rolled onto her back to sit up.After moving her sheet back she remembered she had stuffed a bunch of tools in them. she cluttered them onto the floor and stared at them for interupting her comfort. Her suit case full of her things was in the far corner on her side of the room. She eyed it before looked back at Owen. "Thank you for bringing me here."

"Still? Long time..." he remarked on Amunet sleeping in the cave. He didn't know the girl very well, but even he didn't fancy the thought of sleeping somewhere so dark, dank and filled with death.

He felt awkward walking into an actual girl's room, but he tried not to show it. For a lack of anything better to do, he looked inside his shorts pocket, noticing how the rat was still there, sleeping. He'd checked multiple times and garnered the same result every time. "Welcome." He'd never been in here before, so he took the opportunity to look around. It didn't seem to be to be as bad as his room, at least. He looked around for somewhere to sit, eyeing Jami on the bed. "It's late," he boredly sighed.

Jami was exaughsted. "You sure you don't want to sit for a few minutes?" She patted the bed. She didn't want him to hurt his legs. The walk to his dorm wassn't to far, but she didn't want to make him feel rushed out. Jami's head was clearing and she colour was returning, but her stoumache still felt bad, she hoped it would feel better by tomorrow. She wanted to go to the boat event.

The clutter she had made didnt bother her. She looked across the room at amunet empty side. The differance between the sides was so great. Owen, she believed was ucomfortable in her room. JAmi was kind of grumpy so she was thinking about how it was silly. She had been in his room and he was fine.

Owen was about to reply, before he shut his mouth and nodded instead. He hadn't been sure about sitting on Jami's bed, but now that she'd offered it, he couldn't just decline. Stepped forward, he sat near where she had patted, careful not to sit on top of his rat. He put the plate that he was still carrying to the side, noticing there was only one sandwich left. "Who gets the last one?" he attempted to joke.

Scooping the poor rodent ouf his pocket, he lay it on top of his lap, where it resumed napping, still rolled into a ball. He was unable to resist yawning, before he turned to face Jami. "I did.. get some sweet photos," he mentioned, raising the camera that was still around the strap on his neck. "And videos." He shrugged. "It's one good thing..." He turned it on, noticing that it was very nearly out of battery. After all, he'd had it on for most of the duration of the expidition. He turned it off again, sighing.

Jami eyed the rat. "Is that the one from the cave? It might be hurt..." Jami did a quick bright flash of light and scaned over the rats health, everything seemed fine. It wasn't sick or hurt anymore. "I fixed him." She gave a small smile. Small creatures were easy. human inguries were harder and loss of linbs tokk forever. Seeing his upset face about his camera she stood up and went over to her drawers.

Jami pushed a button and the draw at the top popped out, "My own invention" she wanted to show off a bit. the mass amount of parts in the drawer clatters as it opened. Jami scanned it and then pulled out a bunch of batteries. She walked back to Owen and poured them gently next to the rat. "Can I see what you got?"

Owen hadn't realised his rat had been hurt - it didn't tell him this, anyway. But he wouldn't have been surprised, it definately went through a lot that night. He'd almost forgotten about Jami's healing magic, and grinned when she did her trick. "Called him Ninja. 'Cause I know I'll end up losing him."

He watched with fascination as she opened the drawers, but tried to look unimpressed. She really was into all this mechanics stuff. He smiled upon seeing the batteries, and as they were poured onto his lap, he picked up the right sizes for his camera. Flipping the lid on the back of the device open, he quickly replaced the batteries, having done this before plenty of times. The camera turned on with a digital noise. It was fully charged. Flicking through the photos, he held them up for Jami to see. There was ones of the skeleton, the floating rat, the water displays that Yuuki did, and for some strange reason, one of Rhys sleeping on a rock. He quickly skipped that one.

The name of the rat was cool. "Smart choice, it is an awesome name anyway." She smiled. When he turned the camera on as it warmed up she put away all the batteries that didn't fit in his camers. "You can have the extra, I dont use those type often and i have plenty more." She quickly sat back down next to him and looked at the screen he was holding out. There was one with Ninja floating her hiding behind unseeingly, and some of that creepy skellington. THe second view of rhys confused her but she dismissed it from her head.

"Got any of Yuuki?" Jami was wondering how it looked from this camera's ponit of view. Weither it be the stream she welded or when she was being attacked.

"Sweet." Scooping up the batteries, he shoved them into his pocket, making a mental note to take them out later. Not that he ever regarded his mental notes, however. "Yuuki?" He flicked through them again. Yuuki was absent from most of his photos, and the ones that did have her were either a blurry mess of steam or there was a strong light glaring directly at the lens. He shrugged. "Nope."

He looked outside the window catiously, noticing how it was almost pitch black outside. "Should I...?" he implied, giving a glance towards the door. Jami had been welcoming, sure, but he didn't want to overstay it, especially if that meant on missing out on much-needed rest.

Jami tried to see the pictures as he flipped through them all. He was right none where any good if he did have them. Jami gave a yawn and saw Owen eyeing the door. "Oh, yeah. Thank you again for helping me, and being my esscort!" she smiled getting up to lead him out like a good host. "Don't waste all those batteries at once now." She smiled st her little act. She opened the door and looked back at her bed to make sure he had everything. She saw her suitcase benieth it. She gave it an ominous look. Then she turned up her headd to say good bye to Owen.

"Yeah." Owen responded to her gratitude with a yawn and a scratch behind the head. He really didn't want to bring up the whole thing ever again, and just it had ever happened at all. He was never good at forgetting memories like these, but he was determined to try. "I won't." Holding his rat in the palm of his hands, he stood up, addressing Jami with no more than a lazy nod. He saw her eye the suitcase, but though nothing of it - it wasn't his business to know what was inside.

He turned to wish her goodbye, but the words got stuck in his mouth for longer than he preferred. "Sleep.. nice..." he lamely managed to choke out, before turning away and beginning to walk the lonely journey back to his own room, his face hot with embarassment.

Jami giggled at bit at his attepmt to ssay good night, "You too Owen." She said as he waslked out the door. She whated him walked away, obviously tired. She was as well. She walked back to her bed and look under it. she pulled out the suit case and opened it. Thank goodness it was still there . If se lost it she would be very upset.

Jami put it away and sat on her bed looking at the place where Owen had just been. She sighed. no matter what situation she was in with this boy. She just seemed to fall for him a tiny bit each time.
