What is this thing~?

Lyrica lightly stepped through the large field while holding her shoes in her hand and socks in the crook of her arm. With her bare feet just hardly touching the ground and the light breeze flowing over the area, she felt as though she could take to the air at any given moment. Blissfully unaware of any chaos caused by the affectionate corpses that have supposedly swarmed the island, she felt peaceful at this moment. Soon the young sparrow could no longer resist the temptation caused by the wind ruffling her feathers so gently. With a running start, Lyrica stretched out her wings and took flight- or so she thought.

She fell to her face. Instead of lifting off the ground it seemed as though she was dragged back down to it. The girl felt something holding- or more accurately clinging- onto her ankle. At first she expected it to be an old root of a tree that had not been cleared out, however roots were not usually this... squishy and slimy. Slowly, she looked over her shoulder only to see two glowing, purple eyes and a rotten toothy smile.

Having never seen a zombie before, she stared at the loving creature at her ankle curiously while contemplating whether or not to scream for help.

Hryshen came to the feild for one reason and one reason alone. Water practice. She still wasn't fully used to freshwater and a feild was a nice place to work on atmospheric h2o. She also liked the feel of the long grass and wild flowers brushing against her tail. She walked through the feild and came to a nice spot. She breathed in deeply and lifted her arm in front of her. She concentrated on the air just above the palm of her hand. Small droplets of water began to form and in no time a nice ball of water sat in her hand.

Next, Hryshen spread the ball out into a ring. She turned around slowly, checking for any irregularites in the ring. As she turned, something moved in her periferals. She looked and there was a winged girl. The girl looked about to take off, and Hryshen watched quietly as she had watched seagulls take off from the ocean waters. As the girl proceeded to fly off, she seemed halted and quickly fell over. Hryshen gasped and ran over to the girl. Was she alright?

Hryshen slowed as she neared the fallen girl. Looking the girl over, nothing seemed to be wrong. She looked harder and that's when she noticed the hand. She came closer, seeing that the girl was seemingly alright. She went over to the hand and gasped. "Wh...what is that?" She stared at the face that accompanied the hand. In one way, it was kind of cute, but it looked so....well..dead.

Lyrica looked towards the girl who had just ran over then back at the rotting creature. "I'm... not quite sure myself what this is..." she said, tilting her head slightly. She extended her arm and poked what was left of the zombie's cheek with her index finger then quickly pulled it back once it touched the slimy flesh. "Eww..."

The zombie made a disgusting, almost gurgling noise at her touch which would most likely be the zombie equivalent of a giggle. The creature turned its attention to the other girl in the field. With its bulging eyes filled with hope it wobbled up onto its feet and outstretched its arms to her.
