Rendaz hadn't been aware that the student could fly, but it wasn't anything he was going to complain about. It failed to surprise him, however. He'd come to expect almost anything in a mythical place such as this.

As soon as he exited his classroom, he began to head straight towards the foyer, avoiding all the scenic routes. The last thing he wanted was a distraction from his real direction. He made a beeline towards the beach, and despite the weight of the hovercraft in his arms, didn't stop to rest until he reached the very waters edge. Assuming Jami was still there, he turned around to face her.

"In case you didn't know, little miss Everly's holdin' a beach party soon," he told her. "But the whole thing's gonna flop, I know it. So I made this hovercraft thing to spice it up a little. But I ain't tested it yet. That's where you come in."

Taking the box from her, he opened it to take out what looked like a pump. Plugging it into the inflatable rim, he began to furiously pump air into it, still trying to address Jami. "I want you to give this thing... a lil' ride. I can't swim... so it's a lot safer... if you do it..." he huffed. "Any questions?"

She followed him throught the halls. He seemed to be avoiding the main halls as much as he could. He must really hate pepople. She Thought. Jami would not be able to meet others at this moment. He took them directly to the beach, and turned around to address her.

"Yes, I am aware of the upcoming event. I plan to attend." He took the box from her and started to pump up his hovercraft. As she thought, the ruckarl couldn't swim. What was he upto with this? Either way she was excited to test it. "How about when i am driving it, you can tell me what you want me todo, so if it breaks, it isn't my fault?" In her mind it was smart thinking. That way he wouldn't get mad at her, and he would know what he had to fix.

She took a small step back to look at the vehical. It seemed safe. The most damage that could occour was if the tube burst or the engin failed. Not bad. The thing overall was well made, and quite stable. Jami started moving the sand around with her sandals, while she waited for her instructions.

"Whaddya mean 'if it breaks'?" Rendaz hissed at her, finished pumping air into it. Placing in the plug before the air escaped, he faced her fully. "This thing is foolproof. It ain't gonna break."

Crouching down next to the hovercraft, he adjusted the handles until it was the appropiate height for his assistant. "Stand on the pedal to start the motor. Steer by twistin' the handles in whatever direction. That easy 'nuff for ya?"

Standing back he allowed her space, almost too much space, to try out the vehicle whenever she was ready.

"I was just saying incase. Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you." Jami watched as her reajusted the high of the whell and such for her. That would make it alot easier. "would you still like to tell me what todo though?" HIs directions were simple enough.

She got into the hovercraft and pushed it a little further into the water. then she climbed in taking her place at the wheel. This was going to be fun.

Rendaz observed her as she pushed it further into the water. Going into the box one mroe time, he brought out two walkie talkies. He followed her into the water steadily, making a sour face as the cold water lapped around his knees. He passed the walkie talkie over. "Just ride the thing around, see if it works. Don't go too close to the cliffs

or you'll crash. Press harder on the pedal to go faster. An' watch out for waves. An' we'll talk with these walkie talkies. You got all that?" He looked at her bitterly, almost as if he still thought her to be incapable of doing all of that. Before she would have the chance to reply, he lifted his foot to the edge of the hovercraft, pushing it away from the shore as hard he could.

"I got it all sir!" She took the walkietalkie. Rendaz had pushed her further away. She took a look a the controls. Simple enough. SHe turned the engin on and floored the pedal. The caft sped off. "wooohooo!!!" jami was going to have fun. She manovered through the waves avoiding the cliffs as much as possible. She turned the craft around to see the shore small in the distance. This thing had power!! It had only been a minute or two and she was aleady this far out. The man could build! She looked at the walkietalkie. He hadent talked yet. Does that mean everythings ok? She was still close enough for the range.

Rendaz rolled his eyes as Jami cheered when she sped off. This was an experiment, and most definately not an opportunity for fun. He pressed a button on the walkie talkie. "Are you gonna take this seriously or not?" he snapped into the mic, loud enough to be heard over the waves. "Try pressing down as hard as y'can. I wanna see the fastest this thing can go."

He almost dreaded the outcome of this little test, but he could at least take solace in the fact that he had another spare one back in the classroom.

Jami heard the radio crakle and a voice come from it. "Yes I am. Doesn't mean I am not having fun doing it!! I will make it go as fast as possible for sure! This is some great work!" She started heading back pushing the pedal down as far as it would go. The craft kept smooth the whole way. so awesome! Jami thought. She was sure to avoid the cliffs. No need to wreak a beautiful machine.

Rendaz didn't respond to her reply, all he could do was bring his palm to his forhead in barely restrained impatience. Fortunately, the thing didn't seem to fall apart as she sped up, and he was almost impressed at how fast it seemed to glide over the surface of the waves. "Watch the motor doesn't overheat," he spoke into the walkie talkie. "Slow down now." He hadn't fitted any slowing mechanism into the hovercraft, he figured it probably wouldn't need any. He was still interested to see how she would cope with the task, however.

Jami heard his next commands shout through the comunicator. She reached for it and pushed the talk button. "Got it Sir!" She easied her foot off the pedal. There didn't seem to be a break so as Jami got closer to the shore, she did some turns with the waves. As the craft beached next to Rendaz she shook out her legs. They had gotten stiff from standing so still.

"What do you say sir? I would say sucsess."
She tucked some stray windblown hairs out of her face, and fixed her shirt. She looked exspectanly at her teacher.

"Hmm.." Rendaz scowled his trademark scowl as Jami neared with the hovercraft. Instead of greeting her, or even noting her presence, he walked straight by towards the hovercraft. "Hmm..."

He grabbed the handle of the hovercraft, inspecting it up and down. "Could do with a paintover..." he mumbled to himself. Inspecting the inflated ring, he traced it slightly with his finger before poking it with a claw. It remained firm. "Glad to see you didn't break it," he snorted, standing upright again. He stepped atop it, grabbing onto the handle when it wobbled. It seemed to support his weight well. "I oughta see for myself, ey? If you can guarantee that it was as smooth as it looked," he smirked. "Stop dallyin' an' get on!" He revved the engine in anticipation. He couldn't wait.

"I would gladly paint it for you, if you'd like. It would give me something todo!" He started inspecting the vechical. SHe watched his movements closly. She was suprised the rubber didn't pop benieth his sharp claws. "Ofcourse I didn't break it!" she said a bit offended.

Suddenly the creature hopped on the craft and ordered her to get back on. She scrambled up it as fast as she could. "What are we doing?!" She asked.

Post  Rendaz "Flammy" Wed Aug 03, 2011 12:25 pm

Why was she so insistant on helping out on everything? It was getting annoying, but then again, if she was away painting the handles, he wouldn't have to deal with her.

"I'm giving this thing a try, you moron," he snapped, immediately slamming his foot down on the pedal, regardless of whether or not she was prepared for takeoff. The motor juddered before finally speeding off. The machine skiid over the surface of the water, and he grinned, almost manically so. "It works well," he cackled. Despite being surrounded with water, he didn't seem to show any fear, and his feet were rooted firmly in place. "The steering could be sharper," he mused, twisting the craft in another direction.

What he didn't notice, however, was the wave coming up from behind, and how this weave was bigger than the normal. While it didn't tip over the craft, it did wash over where they were standing with little force. He frowned uncomfortably as the water washed over his feet, but what displeased him even more was when the motor started making strange noises. He turned his head, only to see the machine start spewing out smoke. "..."

Turning to face the beach again, he felt confident that the current would bring them back towards the shore. That is, until he realised they were drifting away from the coast. "...Damn riptide current," he sneered. He gave Jami an annoyed glance as if blaming it all on her.

"you aren't use to someone who looks upto you, are you?" jami muttered as she fell to the floor. Rendaz went so fast, she could tell he was having fun. but as soon as he was fine a wave wrecked the engine. How great. Jami wiped out her wings, and jumped into the water before the man could say anything. in her head she thought of somethings to prevent this situation in the future.

Jami realized that the current was off before the wave even hit. That was why she had jumped in. Her wings were strong enough to push them out of it and back to shore. She mad her way to the back behind the propellars. next thing they knew, jami was pushing the craft to shore. And the best part is he probably wont thank me either seeing that he wants to blame me for this! Jami thought.

"You're mistaken," he immediately spat at Jami's remark. "Many people look up to me." When she jumped into the water, Rendaz stared, half in shock, half in 'What the hell is she doing?'. He said nothing, however; he was interested to see what she was up to, which seemed to be pushing the craft out of the way of the riptide.

Continuing to push afterwards seemed unimportant though - the floating craft was already being carried by the current. Eventually beached, Rendaz turned his attention to the motor, inspecting it. "Dead," he snorted. "Kaput. It's a goner. I'll hafta make a new one." Whipping his stare to face Jami, he frowned. "Didn't hafta go in the water," he grumbled, working on removing the motor from the hovercraft.

Jami walked out onto the beach. Her shirt was soaked so she just rung out the end. "I felt it would be faster" She fluttered her wings to get the water off and shook her hair out. It was short enough todo and it was fun. Jami looked back on the ruckarl taking the engin out. He was right it was done, but knowing a master, they should always have a spear.

Lifting the engine under his arm, he turned to address Jami again. "Carry the hovercraft in. Should be light 'nuff." Picking up the tool box from earlier with his other arm, he began to carry them back towards the castle. "C'mon. Get yourself dried or something. Can't be catchin' colds now, ey?" What could've been a quip of genuine concern was thickly lined with contempt, and he allowed a thin whisp of smoke to trail from his nostrils.

Jami took the craft. It was a bit heavy but she could hold it. She used her flight to follow Rendaz back to the castle. She would dry off this way too. She glided down beside him, "here's your walkietalkie."
